Why in the F is Ross being allowed to coach in this final 4 game?  He took another job, left us high and dry in the most important recruiting period of the season. Why does he get to showcase for Wren on national television?    At least Grant had the decency to hold off announcing until after the NIT was over.

I am so sick of this good ole boi UNT crap.  As a business owner if you take another job I am telling you to put your shit in a box and GTFO.  Only at UNT does this type of shit happen.

Awful take. I don’t know about you but I want to win this tournament again. Ross coaching gives us the best chance to do that.

So many emotional reactions to all this. We’re gonna be fine.

I agree with all of your take except this. Jared is still here.

This.

He should have finished the job at UNT.  Try to win the NIT for us.  He didn't.  I cannot forgive him for leaving us like he did.

And Wren Baker, shame on you!

He hasn’t left. He will coach out the NIT.

So Grant took the Tech job as well before playing the title game.  Did you feel the same way with him?  It's no different - except it leaked earlier this time.

I don’t share the same pessimism some on here do related to Jared - although I recognize with the luncheon fiasco there’s lots of fresh ammo for those that have issues with him. Very interested to see how wide this search is and who we target. Choosing to be optimistic until proven otherwise.

Thank you.  I was thinking we knew Grant was gone before the title game, but thought I was remembering it wrong.

But yes, some were upset that he flew to Lubbock instead of Denton after the championship game

If he coaches the NIT title game, great!  I hope the players send him out as a winner in the NIT.

I feel that way about any Coach that wins at UNT and then leaves us.  What's wrong with that?

I know they were loving the crowd on 3/19 & 3/23.
Now, fans are calling for Hodge to leave IMMEDIATELY instead of finishing his mission.   I'm 99.999999999% sure the players, and Coach Hodge himself, don't want him to do that.   Those are the ones who really matter.

When does legacy start coming into play? It's very difficult to go keep a high major job. What if he's fired after year 3 at WVU? Go have to sit on a bench in an assistant chair again rebuild personal brand in hopes of stepping stoning someone again? When is enough money, enough? Just food for thought.

Yeah right, cry me a damn river.  "Let's do it for the Kids!" Yeah the kids that will bail on us in a second for a couple grand more in NIL monies?  Where are "The kids" from last years squad.  Oh yea I forget they bailed on us for more money...  It's just another example of UNT greasing the wheel versus representing the alumni and universities best interests.  Jared wants Ross to put in a good word for him up at WVA after Wren gets a bigger job is all it is.

I would rather know sooner then later even if there are still games to play.  It is important to have a coach in place in order to do some recruiting before the portal closes.  The portal closes April 22, so this program has less then a month to build a new program with coaches and players.

Fantastic.   Not only do we have our guns on Hodge for doing what just about any of us would do if we were in his shoes...
...Now we have some who want to spray the players who have put on the Green/White and represented our University in a capacity we could never dream of doing.

I really hope Coach Hodge & the players know that these folks are a loud minority, and that a majority of us are pulling hard for our Mean Green to finish the job & bring back some hardware.  And even if we come up short, this season has been a fantastic ride, and we (a vast majority of us) appreciate you and are proud of you!!

EDIT:  Don't get me wrong, when the ire is warranted, I'm just as salty as the next Mean Green fan.    I was loving when Abou was missing every bunny & rebound last game.    And don't get me started on Gio Vizza.

No one has guns trained on anyone. It's Just all meh at this point... maybe the faster we lose the quicker we can get the rebuild started....we need the jump start...

Yeah, but it's a requirement that if you're leaving UNT for a Big12 school, you must leave us with some hardware and a banner in the rafters on the way out.
I didn't make the rules.  Coach Mac complied.  It's only right that Hodge does as well.
The Rebuild will be there.    Ideally, the incoming coach will have some ballers that come with him from his previous school (It worked for coach Burton!).
