Why didn’t Hodge accept the new job with the stipulation that he officially accepts the new position after post season play?

West Virginia was in a hurry and they ratted him out.  It was all on WV.

I bet no way to keep it in the bag. This is like McNeese’s coach to NC State. Play it out and everyone know where he is going next. Plays up the hot hire angle too especially when we keep on winning. 

Now I think we win the NIT.

P.S. - I can’t wait until we are in the Big 12 where it will be harder for programs not in the Big or SEC to steal our coaches.

I am sure he did. Leaks happen, and after the Luncheon F-Fest, I am sure he was not all that worried about it leaking.

I disagree, I don’t see us winning the NIT.  I think too many of our players will be distracted by the NIL vultures or picking out their new apartments in Morgantown.

Almost every college basketball player in the NCAA is planning on transferring anyway. And I bet an even higher % of players in the NIT are planning on it. I don’t think the transfer portal will be a distraction at all. Winning the NIT is a HUGE opportunity for our players and Ross. I think they will be present.

Plus the transfer portal really only affects Lorient and Floyd. And they already know they are going to the Smoky Mountains anyway.
