I am so sick of the lazy hires, poor management, and overall inability to lead on a national level

HIRE SOMEBODY EXCITING!! Why do we have to settle for whoever is sitting around? Meanwhile legitimate programs are hiring the best of the best.

and people here wonder why we get virtually no media coverage

Mosley doesn't have what it takes.

I have been very critical of Mosley this week, but he has proven to be WAY better at hiring basketball coaches than he has been at reserving university venues.

Hodge was a great call and I must admit I was very wrong about him at first

There is NOBODY on the staff right now that has the qualifications to lead our program now though

You do realize Grant wasn't hired by him and even the most average fan of basketball would have chosen Hodge.

He hasn't shown he can truly hire the right coach.

I assume Hodge would like to take most of his assistant coaches with him, no?  Keep the team that has had success together and all instead of building a new one from scratch.  There may not be anyone left for an internal hire.

but in fairness, you also believed this with Hodge.

I am really sad about losing Ross. I am also really excited about the next coach.
Successful programs at our level have to replace good players and coaches. The results have been pretty good the last 8 years. Sure does make it interesting.

If someone on Hodge's staff gets an opportunity to be a head coach at North Texas, they will take it. McCasland wanted Hodge to go with him to Tech apparently. But, Hodge took our HC Job.

It's all one big stepping stone in the NCAA and we are the 2nd or 3rd from the top.

I loved the Hodge hire. I don't feel so confident about the next one.

Then make him a SVP of Finance for Athletics.

Lord knows there's enough VP+ titles in the UNT Athletics and Advancement departments.  Why not add another?

Maybe pump him full of GLP-1's, it's clearly working for Big Brain Wrenzempic.

All that being true, isn’t he still better at hiring coaches than at reserving university venues?🤣🤣

Johnny Estelle can coach.  Plain and simple.  His JUCO record was incredible and his teams were disciplined and gritty.  He didn't tolerate disrespect and a lot of the BS you typically get with JUCO athletes.  At , he went to be the coach of his Alma Mater.  He won a few and lost a few, but never had a team that was disrespectful, dirty, or quit.  He won a few more than he lost...but he was happy there and he brought dignity and pride to the program.  He's a great dad, a great Christian father and husband, and he has the character to go get high character kids.  That is EXACTLY what Ross and Grant looked for when they were recruiting.  Winners with high character.

Johnny Estelle knows basketball...he can coach a team that can score 100+ in multiple games per season.  And he can coach defense on the same level as Ross.   Last year, he was named Texas Association of Basketball Coaches D1 Assistant Coach of the Year.

If he wants the job, he should get the job.  He's a winner

Like Izzo, Pitino, and Calipari?  Go watch a practice and come back and tell me he's too old!  He's got plenty of energy and fire left in his belly!

I like the fact Johnny has the Juco experience and success. Remember the assistants are the ones that spearhead recruiting (ie. this class that is in the NIT final 4). This wouldn’t be a bad choice b/c of the need for someone with success and knowledge of roster flexibility and turnover.

He should get a look.

I do think B Lo is gone and will follow Boss Hodge.
