Anyone else get the news stories about this sent to them from their non UNT friends today? Haven’t heard anything about UNT from them in forever. But boy the “WTF. LOL” texts were flowing today.

so proud of this University. Quite the leadership.

Honest question; how hard would it have been to put a cover of some sort over the court after the game so they don’t have to do the impossible and rearrange thing for the banquet.

Because it’s not like the AAC has hosted a concert the night before a hockey game which was the night before the circus.

Honest answer, the AAC has hosted a Stars game at 1pm and a Mavs game at 7pm on the same day and had everything figured out. Ice to court, glass to sideline seats, all of it. Yet we couldn't figure out a luncheon 12 hours after a game.

We couldn't figure it out....or didn't want to?

Didn't want to, obviously.

From what I've read on here, the school had to notify the NIT early on that there would be a scheduling conflict. In other words, they knew it was a possibility early on but refused to come up with a plan in case it happened. Just gave up. Probably because they didn't want to.

Also read the head of facility and the director both just retired.  Maybe that played a part.  Maybe it didn't.

Several friends sent texts today saying  this story is exactly the crap that makes them refuse to donate or renew season tickets. The University doesn’t care about sports nor its image. The reputation is getting worse imo.

Our administration deserves every bit of ridicule thrown their way. Friggin embarrassing.

Solution. Build a state of the art 6,000 seat arena prioritized for athletics on the Frisco campus and get sports city USA, Frisco involved. Frisco is ripe to turn Mean Green. That city will embrace family entertainment and fun things to do across the year.

At the watch party at Wings Over Frisco I swear some of the tables were made up of UNT Frisco students. They were scooping up the pennants and cooling towels couldn’t believe they were free. It was so cool to see students excited to rep their University. All you need to do is replace 4,500 Denton diehards with  5,000 Frisco family residents, students, and the same traveling alumni. Who do we lose the Denton campus students. It would suck on that front but you could get 5,000 regulars in Frisco in a 6,000 seat arena with some crafty marketing to a hungry city environment. Make UNT basketball Frisco’s team.

Radical yea. Deserved yea. Prioritized absolutely.

Novel concept and certainly worth considering.  Frisco would appreciate us much more than Denton will.

Did they ever buy tickets or attend games? Likely not, and this is just the latest excuse they make.

Lol.   Still hasn't started.    I imagine it's because there are still so many people trickling in.   That, or they decided not to livestream because they knew it would likely get inundated with angry comments from salty b-ball fans.

12 people waiting to watch...  😂
