Although I tend to agree with you, actions and nonactions taking place this week on top of all of last years, that may have to be a pretty powerful offer. Like Marlon Brando made.

Pay Hodge more money. Orrrrr let him go and then hire a new coach. And pay him even less than Hodge was making. Maybe just promote from within to make it easy. Stay under budget? Check

pat on the back from the administration. Maybe even get a little bump yourself?

heck yeah. Go mean green

Yes I agree Hodge deserves a better deal, and perhaps UNT will give him one.  However, he has not had a Q1 win yet, the offense does not really stand out, yes the defensive system is very good, and he did well in the portal, but they have also been very lucky too.

Our football coach makes 800k, last I looked. It needs to be more than our football coach. What has our football coach done?

According to last year's financial reports, salaries, benefits and bonuses paid by the University for:

Football head coach - $1,390,779

Basketball head coach - $847,747

If he wins the NIT, he has proven his salt.

That certainly would be a worthy achievement, however they have not had to play any good teams yet.

Pretty bad take. Furman and AState are good teams that both made their conference tournament final. OkSt is a school that will recruit better than us, on paper.

If I'm a WVU guy my concern with hiring Ross is his lack of offensive stuff. In high leverage moments we go dry OR we hit off the dribble deep shots late in the clock, which is not attributed to Ross' acumen. That's my concern with him. That's my concern with him if he remains our coach.

Truth is that this could be a steal for WVU to get Hodge now.  One more season, with opportunities to prove himself even more, and he might get caught up in a bidding war with bigger schools/budgets wanting his services.

Seems like he's already a great coach, and getting him in this cycle could be great for Mountaineers.
