It's been said but the yearly raises are important to remember when looking at these salaries, and potential HC hires. Those raises add up and the longer a coach is at a school, the more they make.
McCasland made $1.1 million during the 2022-2023 season. Kennedy made $900,000 that same season per the deal he'd signed in July of 2022.
I am obsessed with how the college basketball environment is changing in a way that will further separate the power conferences from the rest of us.
Next year there will be a $20M cap on revenue sharing. What? Will we be able to ever reach that amount? With revenue sharing and NIL and the power conferences steadily growing, will mid-major programs be able to compete for players?
Maybe it is true that there will be two major tournaments that actually mean something to the programs that reach them. One for the power conferences and one for the rest of DI. The Tournament without auto bids and the NIT I'm assuming.
Maybe all we can hope for is a run in the NIT or a jump to Power 4-5-6.
Here is a good article I have already posted, but think it is interesting.
