Speaking of SMU and TCU, why didn't we ask to host the game in one of their gyms?   They're not using them for anything right now.

* Founded in 1890 as Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical College.

* 26,805 students enrolled by Fall of '25.

* Famous alumni include Garth Brooks, T. Boone Pickens, Daniel Cormier, Viktor Hovland, Bill Self, Reba McEntire, Ricky Fowler, Barry Sanders, and Dexter Manley although later sadly found to be illiterate and Denton Ryan's own Spencer Sanders.

* Considered America's Friendliest College Town.

* 17-17 on the year, 7-13 in the Big XII. (13-3 at home and 3-10 on the road).  Gee, wonder why we would like them in Denton?

* Key wins: Beat SMU twice, Miami (FL), Seton Hall

* Common opponents: Lost 86-78 to FAU, won 76-55 vs. Tulsa, 

* Results of interest: Lost 80-65 to a bad OU, beat Tarleton 66-61, lost to Houston 60-47 & 72-63, lost to TX Tech 64-54 & 93-55.

* NIT results: Beat Wichita St. 89-79 & smuT 85-83.

* Led in scoring by G Bryce Thompson at 12.9 ppg, C Abou Ousmane at 12.4 ppg and Marchelus Avery at 11.4 ppg.

* As a team, shoots 43% from the field, 33% from three and 72% from the line.

* Average 73.4 ppg while giving up 76.8 ppg.  They gather 35.3 rebounds per game to 34.9 for their opponents and they turn the ball over 13.5 a game while forcing 14.5.

* Abou still is foul prone having be DQ'ed 5 times this year.

* Score by periods: 660 in the first and 727 in the second.  Their opponents score 740 in the first and 800 in the second.

Let's kick their ass.

SMU, TCU, UTA, TWU... there's an abundance of venues in the area that could have worked and been ready with a few days notice.

Two years ago OSU actually had to play their first round game against Youngstown State on the road because of wrestling championships. But last year Prudential Center was booked but Seton Hall hosted us in their 1,300-seat on-campus gym.

We could have found a way.

No, I want them to mention it.  I wish the announcers on ESPN would have said it every time they mentioned that we'd be traveling instead of hosting and would have mocked us for it.

Sissoko struggled a bit in his early career but he did enough to get us that 2023 championship. 
He's really improved since then being much more confident inside than he was. And he is such a great guy too.

I would absolutely love it if he ends up being the difference in a win over Okie State.

Exactly my thoughts too! Such a much better person just due to his continued commitment to the school. I really am a big Mou fan. I always thought he had the size to be dominant and so glad he grew over the years.

That would be the cherry on top if he got the winning basket over Abpoo.

And/or…Why not hold the luncheon at the McNatt-Loveless Indoor Practice Facility ?  I went to a gala there (I wore a tux !) to raise money for the Athletic Department.  It was very nice and I bet a lot of our faculty have never been inside there.
