Look at Mosley hiding in the tunnel at the end of the game like Nico Harrison!
I don’t care who is responsible for scheduling the Pit. It is Mosley’s job to represent the needs of the athletic department to the university. That is what the money is for!
We missed an opportunity to host OK State in a postseason basketball game. How many new North Texas basketball fans could that have created? Ross Hodge & the players earned this opportunity.
I have always defended Mosley on here, but this is gross negligence. IMG_3477.thumb.jpeg.732aa697189bd97c2a4c5f50f96b82e7.jpeg

We might be the only D1 school who has to rent their own basketball arena.

Watching the NIT for many years, there's always at least one school that has to forego a home game because the school is using the arena for something else.  Usually it's in the first round though.

Don't we have an indoor football facility we could host it at?  Or maybe another building on campus like the Union or countless other places?

Good point. IPF hosted a cornhole tournament earlier in the school year.

Ah good point.  You are right.

I just don't understand why this is happening again - I am fairly sure this has happened one of the previous years we were in the NIT.  Is there not a nice place at the top of the football press area that could host it?  How is it that those of who don't work in Athletics can figure out a solution but no one at the University can again?

You certainly don't see this at big time schools or schools that are serious about athletics.  We just pretend.

Such a UNT thing.

It happens pretty much every year in the NIT, but it still sucks. Dayton had to play at FAU in this year's event because of the First Four.

I think Mosely should be let go.  What has he done since he became AD?  He is not WB for sure.

Are the women still playing at the pit?  They may need to set up the tables the day before.  We continue to shot ourselves in the foot and nothing happens.  If we had played OSU at home I bet it would have been a sell out or close to it anyway.  Everyone was excited about OSU coming here but leave it to UNT to burst the bubble.  The coaching staff and players deserve better.

I bet 60% of the professors dont even know where the Pitt is located

Women play tomorrow in the Pit at 6.00 pm.

It is ashame to give such a chicken $hit impression. The school owning the basketball facility has been a problem for 40 years. UNT is going to be in a world of hurt with Pell grants and student loans put in question.

I’m betting our guns are trained on the wrong target here.   I’m betting this is a Keller thing.    Has anyone seen him at any of the games?  I don’t think he’s anywhere near as invested in athletics as Smatresk was.  I bet Jared went to bat & got shot down…. Something like:

Jared-“Hey Harry, it’s possible we could have a game scheduled 3/25.  Anything on the schedule?”
Keller-“Yeah, staff luncheon.  We have to show all our staff how much we appreciate them with this pizza party at the Pit!”
Jared-“Uh, I don’t think you understand.  This is a huge opportunity for our University.  Not only perception-wise, but financially!”
Keller-“No.  I can’t tell our staff they don’t mean as much as our basketball team.”
Jared-“Don’t cancel it, just mov…”.
Keller-“Take the b-ball team to Stillwater.  We’re having this pizza party!”

I mean, Dayton wasn't able to play at home despite being a 1 seed.  Our reason for not hosting sucks, but it's not that unusual for schools to have other stuff scheduled.

Then he needs to communicate that. I sit on the side of he did very little to nothing. Piss vinegar and be fighting mad for YOUR athletes and coaches. In true leadersip, your job security is secondary to the people you work for.

And that's a well known commodity they have situated for themselves. I'd trade them.

This is the most North Texas thing ever. Have the team play a great game in front of probably the 2nd best crowd of the year with a walk off shot at the buzzer causing the place to erupt - only to find out we don’t get to host the Big12 opponent who our fans care about and have proven to show out for.

Ross has to be beside himself and I don’t blame him. What a kick in the nuts. This has potentially huge ramifications. Going on the road to Stillwater - I swear if we drop that game…

For OSU winning an NIT isn't program changing. For us, winning 2 in 3 years is massive programming momentum, further cementing us a s a Top Shelf mid-major.

Can you imagine that game coming down to the final minutes in a nail-biter, & their crowd wills the Pokes to a win like what happened here tonight?   Lets just hope Atin is back on & we take it to these guys at their house.
