Man, I'm hoping Brett can get to the bottom of what really happened here.  This is where we need investigative journalism, cuz right now this doesn't make much sense.  It's a freaking lunch....  at least when the rumor was a cheer competition it made more sense.

Why would he bother looking into this when you guys get mad at him every time he posts something?

1. I like the confidence that the AD had in our ability to make the NCAA Tournament thus not being concerned about scheduling the Super Pit on a             random Tuesday night after the regular season was over.

2. Someone on this board needs to give a big gift for a new facility dedicated to Athletics only.

3. Some people wouldn't be satisfied even if the AD scheduled 7 home football games.

3. Some people wouldn't be satisfied even if the AD scheduled 7 home football games. Yay... totally can't wait for UNT football. The program is buzzin with momentum.

After sleeping on it...   I'm still pissed.

Y'all think BLo and Jasper (if he has eligibility) are feeling the love right now?    If either of those guys get even a remotely competitive NIL deal from another school, they're so gone.   They earned a home game (where we only have 1 loss all season) in the Quarterfinals of the NIT, and are being forced to go on the road instead.

The crowd was finally electric.  The "North-Texas" chant was working.  They guys battled hard against a really good ARSt team and got the W.   We're set for a really great crowd against OKSt, but instead: 💩 💩 💩 💩 💩

If any of the players are reading this, I hope they see how upset the fans actually are & that we have their backs.

I couldn't sleep. It's infuriating and I'm not even going to be able to be there. I'm upset for the players, coaches, and diehards.

Proud of the team!  They deserve better!

Exacty my thoughts too. This team has worked their butts off to get to this point and they get to travel for their reward. Inexcusable.

You certainly don't see this at big time schools or schools that are serious about athletics.  We just pretend.

Such a UNT thing.

Funny, I was talking to a buddy that is a Tech alum and he said the exact same thing. You don't see this in bigger programs.

Maybe because it's his job???

So, I am just as upset as everyone here. I can just echo what others have said. Small time. Makes 0 sense something that ends at 1pm would cause problems for another event 7 hours later, but I don't plan events, maybe there is something that takes that long to get ready.

When people ask (and "people" I'm including the athletic department who lectures us from time to time) why alumni don't get more invested and do more for the department...

Pretty obvious answer....again

and again

and again

and again

and again

If the guy in charge isn't invested (he doesn't give money, he gets money from the school) why should we?

Of 1000 possible options here...the best one....is have the game at the opposing teams place?

What an absolute give up.

Simple question: Is Jared Mosely as upset about this as fans are? The answer to that should tell you everything....

No. He absolute is not. He was quick to get on X and state there being an already scheduled "event" at the pit. Then parkourd off that platform and rolled into a safe space.

Jared is just a go along to get along, no great vision other than show me the $$$. Sad state of affairs, but that is why it is nicknamed the Retirement Village on Bonnie Brae.

I called this morning and they said the rescheduling was pretty standard practice given the fact the SuperPit is owned by The University.

Then why didn't they reschedule this?

In other places, someone would get fired for such a botch, but North Texas never learns. It shows how little support the university actually has for sports. It's completely and totally unacceptable!  😠

I'm very well... that's why I have been calling for his firing. He is not the person that UNT needs. Frankly, he's the opposite..

He operates as if he comes from money, "works" just to have something to do, and has to inner drive for greatness. As I've said for a while now... he's a full shark and full sharks don't hunt.

Since the University screwed this whole thing up, they should at least charter 3-4 fans buses to Stillwater so the team can have a decent UNT fan turnout to support them. But that may cost $$$ so that will never happen. Total bullsh-t. If anyone cared in administration, they would try to do something to make things right. It will never happen. And please don't try to promote lame watching parties with pom poms and necklace giveaways to make up for this colossal screwup!

Good point. IPF hosted a cornhole tournament earlier in the school year.

Actually, the more I've thought about this the more I think this would be a cool idea. Move the court over to the IPF and surround it with those temporary bleachers they use in golf. You could probably build a makeshift 3,000-seat arena.

Again, it should make absolutely no difference who has official ownership of the SP.  Decisions are not made by some mystical entity, they are made by the usual chain of command of the administration.   Board of Regents, President, Athletic Director, etc.

No, move the luncheon into the IPF.

Hey! Let's not downplay the job that @UNT 90 Grad does. He puts these together for the Collin country crew and it is a great time!

Since it is the Alumi community, I am not sure the university has any direct involvement.

I'm not putting down alumni watch parties. I really enjoy the ones John Williams hosts at Eastside. But that seems to be the athletic department's answer to building the fan base.

Maybe Eastside will put together a fan bus. I know a lot of people who would sign up to go.

Jared is on the RV path of UNT AD leadership. Get job, never publicly complain about apathy toward the AD by the rest of the university, stay in budget, get extended...it gave us RV for 15+ years. In his time, RV hired a HS coach that was the worst football coach in our history, hired Tony Benford who crushed the program within a few weeks of play and still stayed for 5 full years, he hired the worst women's basketball coach, then his last hire, Dan McCarney, gave us the worst loss in modern college football history, 66-7 to FCS Portland State at home on Homecoming.

Why did RV get to stay? Because he was the pioneer of the path that Jared is clearly on right now. Get insulated with the few BMDs we have, so the administration doesn't get mad about budget shortfalls, and boom, you get extensions.

Standard response from the non-sports crowd hired into the UNT Admin.

I doubt the BoR or President of the UNT Denton campus are "hands-on" in the scheduling of events for the SuperPit.
