Duke also went 7+ minutes at one point only scoring like three points off free throws.  So, it's not just at NT where that kinda thing happens.

the analytics said you have 90%+ chance of winning with 1:26 left, and you lose

you allow, like, 13 points in less than a minute of play….

Maybe you shouldn’t be national champs.

Florida allowed UConn to score 11 points in the final 28 seconds of their game, probably didn't deserve to win, yet they'll get to play for a national championship tomorrow. Any other hot takes?

Sports can teach us that sometimes you do all the right things and don't get what you want.  That what you "deserve" is irrelevant.

Maybe relax a little? Was just having fun with old cliches.

My tot take is, you can win and not deserve it and lose and not deserve to.  Both happen in sports.

Not a hot take at all. I'm sure everybody around realizes it's not about how you start, it's how you finish. Most games the past few weeks have come down to the final 5 minutes or less. If you can keep it close for about 35 minutes, you can win the game.

Well, generally I feel like if you're good enough to come back from a deficit to win at the end - you deserve to.  That's not always the case, but 95+ percent of the time.

Last night I'm still not sure if I feel like if Houston or Duke was more responsible for how that game ended.  I've seen endings like that before, but I'm not sure ever one in such a high stakes situation.

I mean that was intense full court pressure Houston had, I so gotta say the Cougars had a lot to do with it.  But man, I cannot believe the way that game ended.

Likely both. It had been mentioned that Duke hadn't really faced much pressure something like the last 8 to 10 games where instead they had one those games by like 10 or more points, so they weren't ready mentally for a grinder of a game against the Coogs.

Kinda what we did against Memphis?

Sharp is our closer. He always hits it deep late in the game, so the play call wasn't the problem.

I'm just not sure what that last shot was. I think he thought he was blocked and panicked.

Yes, he double-clutched and just sorta dropped the ball, then he wasn't sure if he could touch it again.  It was a weird ending to a good season.

If Sharp had touched the ball, it would have been a turnover. Once he realized it was gonna be blocked, it slipped out of his hand, but he was stuck in a no man's land.  He needed a teammate to come grab the ball.

Worth noting, Todd Golden was HC for 3 seasons at San Francisco prior to Florida. He went 22-12, 11-14, and 24-10 in his three seasons leading the Dons, never finished higher than 4th in conference, never made it past the conference semifinals, made 1 NCAA tournament as an at-large where he lost to Murray State.

Just pointing this out considering our recent hiring. I'm skeptical or Robinson's track record but Golden should serve as a reminder that record doesn't always mean a coach isn't capable.
