Pretty bad game from three for us. First half was as good as anyone handled us in the paint this year

It would be great if we could start scheduling games with you guys during the regular season in both basketball and football.

NT 52 ---------- ASU 48

7:44 to go

Feels like it's gonna come right down to the final shot.

I hear Ron Howard's voice saying "and it did".

Great win tonight. But again with the attendance. That was like 2X '2661'. Really happy smu lost though; maybe these are the prices we have to pay for such things.

Well.... I am too, but imagine being able to go to the game.

Not as good as back when we were playing Texas Tech in football in 2000.  We were trailing like 13-0 at the time, and I turned to everyone around me and said "Interception returned for a touchdown."  Literally the very next play that's what happened.  I swore off trying to really predict plays after that since I was a legend at that point.

It became such a gag that it still gets trotted out amongst a few of my friends to this day whenever I'm in town.

Looked like a lot more than 2600 on TV...

The attendance counter is a work from home position.  He/She only counts what they could see from the main camera angle.

DENTON, Texas – Sun Belt Conference regular season co-champion and tournament runner-up Arkansas State surrendered a game-winning shot with 1.1 seconds left in a 65-63 defeat at North Texas in the second round of the 2025 National Invitation Tournament (NIT) on Sunday evening.

The No. 3 seed in the Dallas Region, the Red Wolves (25-11) competed in their fifth NIT all-time and first since 1991. Arkansas State’s 25 wins are the most in a season in program history.

Junior forward and All-Sun Belt Third Team selection Izaiyah Nelson led four Red Wolves scorers in double figures with 16 points and 14 rebounds for his 10th double-double of the season.

Redshirt senior forward Kobe Julien added 15 points, while senior guard and All-Sun Belt First Team choice Taryn Todd scored all 12 of his points in the second half to go along with five assists to no turnovers, as junior guard Derrian Ford chipped in 10 points.

North Texas (26-8) never trailed in the contest despite three ties including the final one at 63-all after a layup by Todd with 10 seconds remaining. The Mean Green held the final shot, as Jasper Floyd made a drive to the right of the basket, stopped, turned and sank a fadeaway jumper with one second left.

Floyd and Latrell Jossell scored 18 points apiece to lead North Texas which shot 25-for-57 (.439) overall.

Arkansas State shot 24-for-65 (.365) overall and 8-for-27 (.296) from 3-point range while owning a 30-26 scoring edge in the paint and a 12-3 advantage off turnovers. North Texas outscored the Red Wolves, 27-16, off the bench.

I was upper deck end zone of Superdome for LSU-Ohio State BCS championship. Son and I realized early in the trip drunk Tiger fans couldn’t distinguish between Arkansas State and Ohio State shirts so we bought cheap game shirts with both team logos. One shirt purple other yellow. We had cheered a good Ohio State play and quickly realized not a great idea.

Just before half Buckeyes are getting ready for a field goal at the other end but raise net on our end. Lot of moaning groaning before they lowered it. I yelled they just know Tigers gonna block it for a touchdown and getting ready extra point. They freaking blocked it but couldn’t beat last man for TD.

Them drunk bastards about beat me to death wanting high fives and slapping me on the shoulders and back congratulating me 🤪

Doubt hoops happens until y’all get another coach.

Football? Who knows. 2026 game with TCU is first game non-conference against a Texas school since 2019. Meanwhile go home/home with Kennesaw, buy a game with West Georgia and travel to Georgia Tech over next three years.

Atlanta is a few miles close to Jonesboro than Denton. Alabama and Georgia have been bigger than Texas in our recruiting last 15 years. Parts of Northern Alabama are closer to Jonesboro than UAB.
