Where is the donor fatigue at SMU? We just hired away a sitting AD in the Big 10 (Damon Evans - Maryland) who was previously the AD at Georgia. Raised over $150m last year alone and NIL collective second behind only Miami in the ACC.
No ROI at SMU? They were in the CFP this past year, and look to be one of the better teams in the ACC going forward. I can't imagine too many of the donors had much higher expectations than that, realistically speaking.
I read a list of 15 things “people” don’t do anymore. Among not writing thank you notes and other things, the article said people don’t participate in college homecoming activities. Maybe we’re actually ahead of the curve. This is likely part of the drop in game attendance.
Big money donors - yes even at SMU - are getting fatigue from all of this spending of their hard earned money and no ROI. Especially tough sell at a G5 who already has the deck stacked against them.
