..... "The at-large selection marks Furman's third trip to the NIT and first since 2019. In 1991, Furman received an NIT bid following its SoCon regular season title and dropped an 86-67 verdict in opening round play at West Virginia. The 2019 Paladins earned a first-round home game versus Wichita State, but the Shockers edged the Paladins, 76-70, at Timmons Arena.
Senior PJay Smith Jr. leads the Paladins averaging 18.0 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game. The first team All-SoCon choice and Lou Henson Award (Mid-Major Player of the Year) finalist ranks among the national leaders shooting 42.1% behind the arc. Graduate student Nick Anderson, a first-year transfer from Barry University, has contributed 14.7 points per game and was a third team All-SoCon choice.
The Mean Green, the 2023 NIT champions, are 24-8 overall and finished second in the American Athletic Conference standings with a 14-4 record this season. North Texas, 15-1 at home this season, fell to UAB in the semifinal round of the AAC Tournament this weekend."

Agree. Anything under say 4 total games (in minutes) plus post season should be allowed for bench players without costing them a full season of eligibility.
From our senior class, I believe the only ones that may be eligible for another season are Floyd, Jossell and Massie. Walker, Wright, and Sissoko just completed their fifth year playing and, as noted above, Stone is set to become a grad assistant.
Now, I don't know if Floyd, Jossell and Massie will take an extra year, or even if they qualify for one, but it would by nice to have them back.
Lorient, Newell and Allo (walk-on) are listed as juniors.
Cotton is listed as a sophomore.
Vice and Howell are R-Fr.
Mason and Smith Jr. are true freshmen.
I was poking around the season ticket renewal website and stumbled across my MGSF ranking. I'm not trying to flex that I'm #747 on the rankings. I'm sure many of you here are way higher than me on this list because when I go to bowl or away games and buy tickets through the school, I am never that close.
I think it's pretty sad that I've only been a season ticket holder for 10 years and I'm that high on the list. But what is even sadder is that our university is one of the largest in the state, has been around for 135 years, and only has 7,279 members in the MGSF. I wish we had more school spirit. 😢
Does anyone else care to share their ranking? I'd be curious to see where we are as an online community.
