That 3 pointer was just terrible shot selection.  And it was taken by a guy that had 7 points on 3-9 shooting (1-5 from 3pt).

I also would rather face Irvine, but only because their lack of familiarity with us.  If you recall I mentioned pretty early on that I thought they'd be formidable in the semis.

Was it just me or did UAB look tired? Maybe the travel wasn't as big of a factor, but I don't remember them looking that sloppy in any game they've played us in.

Not sure that would even be possible, but I have long thought he was the best coach in CUSA and I think he's the best coach in the AAC. (Grant could've been, he wasn't here long enough).

Nationally, he's one of the most underrated coaches in the country.

I've always been a big fan of Andy Kennedy.

I've always been a big fan of Andy Kennedy.

He seems very tied to UAB.  Been their HC since 2020, but before that was HC at Ole Miss for 12 years.  He started playing at NC State then transferred to UAB for 3 years.  He is in the UAB hall of fame.

Chattanooga comes up big in the second half and beats the Ramblers.  I'll probably watch the final for kicks, but it stings we won't be there.

I saw a few semis at MSG that had about the same sort of crowd as last night. NIT attendance largely is about proximity, with a few exceptions (I seem to remember Dayton took a decent crowd when they won about 15 years ago).

Was surprised Loyola didn't bring more people, but that's about it. None of the schools were known for traveling that well and none were super close.

Yes, because nothing fills up MSG like a matchup between UC-Irvine and TN-Chattanooga.

Agree.  This event used to be something special but has been relegated to the kid's table.  Even ESPN, contracted to show the games, used the full halftime studio portion to talk up the Final Four...next weekend.
