I asked Johnnie Massie....if he is about ready...and he said he hopes to play in the next game.

I'm not sure if  this was mentioned.....but #55 (Cortes) was a high school teammate of Matty Stone. The guy made some shot during the game and shot a look over at our bench....right at Matt. I sensed they aren't best of buds.

Bell & Beverly were hitting some very tough/contested shots.  Props to those guys.  Mean Green made them work hard for every point.

Not sure why Beverly wasn’t on the floor much in the last 5 min or so (at least, he didn’t seem to be).  If he was, that could have turned out differently.

Latrell had a nice game & Atin was clutch.

I mentioned it in some conversation about WSU...maybe in their game with Memphis...but Beverly shows up in some games looking like he's an all-conference player and is just a complete passenger in others. the games I've seen when he's been on, I really love his game...he can get in the lane at will...either use his float game or facilitate...smooth handle, good athleticism...he's gotta drive Shocker fans nuts, though with his inconsistency

We seem to lose winnable games with good home crowds unfortunately.

We lost against UTSA. That's it. We are 14-1 at home. Do not confuse our basketball team's performance with football's tendency to choke.

It seemed like most times Beverly came on, it was for Bell.
With the way those dudes were playing, Coach Mills missed an opportunity in keeping them on the floor at the same time.  I'm sure there were matchup considerations, but just watching them, it was clear they were both hot.  And again, it wasn't like they were just getting wide open looks.   They were driving & hitting some nicely-contested shots.
Got them both on the floor at the same time in the last minute, but I think if that had happened maybe a minute or two earlier, the game could have wound up with a different result.  Who knows?
But yeah, going back & looking at Beverly's stats, I can see what you're saying.  Dude is all over the place... and when we played in Wichita, his statline was 2pts/1reb/1ast in 28min!  Jeckyl/Hyde.

After watching the game, it seems to me that Stone and Cortes are from two different worlds..I doubt that they are big buddies.

Cortes is one of those guys I look at and immediately hope he fails.  Not sure why, just do, even back to his days at OU.

As was told to me: "We can't call people retarded. It's offensive. Be better, retard."

We shouldn't be calling people bi-polar either, you crazy mofo's.

My takeaways:

* Thank goodness Jossell came out hot.  He hit a couple of big threes, but his jab step, step back from the elbow is my favorite shot..

* Wright was good all night.  Loved to see him be more aggressive about taking his shot.

* Our bigs, Sissoko and Lorient, have to secure the ball better.  Amazing how many time they had balls slapped out of their hands.

* Regarding those WSU take-aways, you can't tell me all of those were clean.

* As noted, we missed Massey.  Too bad Mason didn't get a run or two. (Couldn't resist)

* Rondell is so good at the little things and then makes a careless mistake.  Really need to be smarter with the ball.

* Regarding "smarter with the ball", there was about a 4 minute stretch in the second half where we made bad pass after bad pass.  Our offense is so much better when we are passing crisply and getting movement without the ball vs the isolation plays.

* Newell is so frustrating.

* Our defense on that last play was perfect.

* I like that we have played and won a number of close games this year.  Should serve of well in the tournament.

* Did Allo miss a shot in warm ups?  I watch that guy every game and he never misses.

* Let's take care of business vs. Charlotte Thursday at home and Temple this weekend and rest up for the tournament.

* Last, I don't like to complain about the refs.  Not an easy job, but it seemed like we were called any time we contested one of their shots while they got away with similar hacks on our end.

You can use the term in a way that speaks to his thoughts being juxtaposed.

In other words, using it as way to describe his feelings going both ways, not referring to the actual condition.

People are too sensitive these days...

He's just jealous because Matt is a good looking guy. That Cortez dude is butt ugly.

To my understanding he prefers to be called Jon Jon.

Good observations.

Also, why do our players never just call "time out" when when in danger of getting the ball tied up?, unless we have the possession arrow.

I called him Brianna Stewart all night.    Dead ringer.

Tat her up and braid her hair and there you go.

it's not just us...I've seen less and less of the save-the-possession timeout across basketball the last few years. leads me to believe there's something in the analytics suggesting its better to have the late game timeouts than save a possession three minutes into a half
