I should also mention that it seems like the newly configured Pac will be very stable for a long time, maybe even several or more decades. I can't think of any members that will have "wandering eyes." Perhaps just as importantly, based on the geographical locations of most Pac schools, it seems highly unlikely that any of them will get swiped by another conference. Thus, if North Texas and Texas State want the best stability and competition they can get, it definitely seems like the Pac is the way to go. It won't hurt North Texas and Texas State to increase their recruits from California either.

So, what/when are you hearing about Texas State getting a firm invite from the PAC?

I know you turned down a MWC invite.  Was that in anticipation of a PAC invite coming instead?

I guess any further invites will come after their media network and offers are known, and their MWC poaching court case is settled.

Pac-12 expansion options: Texas State, not UNLV, should be the top target because membership is about the future, not the present

The conference could pursue a second Texas school to pair with the Bobcats and reduce travel demands. UTSA and North Texas come immediately to mind, particularly given the AAC’s media rights deal allocates smaller shares to its newer members than to the likes of Memphis and Tulane.

Such a jacked up college athletics world we live in.  Nothing says:

Atlantic Coast Conference more than Cal or Stanford

Pacific Coast Conference more than TX St.

I still beleive having UNT, UTSA, and TSU together, with maybe Rice, could be a good move, as we know Memphis, Tulane, and USF want to leave
