Ditto. But SHSU is 0-4 on the weekend, lost a tough 10-inning game to CBU in the semifinal, and we didn't blow them out of the water either. Bearkats are desperate for a W. I hope our bats can wake up.

One thing I'll say in our team's defense: The way this schedule has been this year.......they've been mostly on the road. Today, will be our 20th game........19 of which have been on the road. (I realize many were neutral site games....but the point is....our gals have had to do a lot of traveling this year.) Normally....we seem to host a home tourney or two....and that gives them a bunch of home games in Feb. 

After today.....they get back to somewhat normal scheduling......a week in....a week out.....stuff like that.

Go Mean Green.....beat the Bearcats!!!

They are. I love the spirit they play with. 

They lead the fans in the "North! Texas!" chant whenever we score. 

They have a lot chants/chatter during the game (both teams do).

There might be a break in the action....and you'll look out, and the outfielders are doing a line dance to a song that's being played. The fact that they have so much fun....makes it even more fun watching them.

And they're cute.....that makes it easy, too.

Worthy of note that the comeback inning started with an infield hit by the true freshman Taylor Platt, who was originally ruled out at first but Rodney successfully challenged.

SHSU pulls their starter after two hits to start the bottom of the 4th. The latter was by Platt again, whose two hits in consecutive innings match her season total coming into the game.

E3 score holds up as the final. UNT heads back to Denton winners 3-2 and 16-4 overall. Beat CBU yesterday and we're probably warming up to play Baylor for the title right now.

Bats died yesterday, but as @SUMG noted, lots of travel for the team. That wears on you mentally and physically. Really proud of their start to the year. Let’s get home, prep for OSU Wednesday and get into a normal rhythm.

Halfway to last year's win total a month into the season. We could be in the midst of a truly special year.

I think the main thing that Rodney and staff have to figure out....is where are they with the pitching staff right now. Has Anneca Anderson become our #1?

I was thinking about this the other day. Is it possible that Skyler doesn't like being the #1 pitcher? When she was so good as a freshman.....as I recall, Ashley Peters was our top pitcher. I wonder if lesser pressure....might work wonders for SS.

And who do we have at #3? Mack Attack (Childers) has been good in the past. I think her last relief outing went well....several games ago. Kayleigh Smith pitched really well against CBU in a loss Saturday.

Smith wasn't very good as a true freshman....but is showing signs of being good. That's what I hope will happen with the three true freshmen (Maloney, Buffington, Gaddis) pitchers....that they will get much better as they get more used to the college game.

For the record, Cal Baptist beats Baylor 2-1 to win the Baylor Invitational. Got credit for including the religion in the school name.

Skyler is streaky with her control.  She came in relief of Anderson yesterday and couldn't find the plate.  Anderson had to come back in to finish.  Against BU yesterday Skyler started well for several innings, then collapsed with 2 straight 4-ball walks and a hit batter.  Does she sense when she's losing control or getting tired?   Coach/player communication needs to be better.

As for the team, the only glaring issues I saw besides pitchers not consistently throwing strikes, was baserunning errors and batters swinging at pitches out of the strike zone.   Do girls never slide into a base?  A couple times we were called out just because of slowing down and standing up into second, or going back to first after a caught fly instead of sliding in to beat throws.
