Softball: 2/26 vs. # 12 TX Tech

Tech is 14-3, undefeated at home, 0-2 on the road and 9-1 neutral.

Losses to:

#25 MS St. 3-1 in extra innings.

#1 Texas 2-1 in extra innings.

#1 Texas 11-0 in five innings

Depends.  A family member and friend had tickets and had to refund them because they are now unable to attend due to their work schedule.

I would bet the 2 pm start had more to do with allowing Tech to get back home....at a decent time. (I'm assuming they bussed here for this game....may be wrong).

As to the game.......we might have to go up against that top pitcher of theirs....the one they got from Stanford, after giving her a $1 million NIL deal.

Skylar walks the first two batters and three overall but we escape the top of the first unscathed. The pitcher for Tech is also batting and grounded into the inning-ending out.

Ridiculous.  Down 3-0 because of walks, wild pitches and sloppy defense.  Play like you belong on the field with them.

Now 4-0 giving up a homer.  I'm not watching, but following online and it seems like we showed up totally unprepared.

Softball likes to let the miscues snowball. Maybe Canady got cold with the long break.

When she was a freshman.....she was so good....I thought Skyler would be our Jennie Finch or Cat Osterman.

But she peaked then. She has the size....and can obviously bring the heat. I think her issues are between the ears. Not meaning dumb.....just maybe she overthinks things. 

Doubt we can come back today....against Canady. Go Mean Green!

We finally broke through with a Conley hit and got two runners in scoring position when the Tech second baseman committed a throwing error, but Cierra pops up to end the third inning. Still down 4-0.

Actually a lot more green.. maybe pushing the game to 2 helped.

Very quiet though. No dugout chants from either side since early on.

Still 4-0 Tech after five. The Tech right fielder just made an unreal diving catch robbing Conley of extra bases and possibly a run after she doubled up Aisha Moore, who led off with a walk, at first.

Tech is protecting their million dollar pitcher. She batted only once and was pulled after three innings.

We don't get many top 20 wins.....in any sport. Way to go, ladies! What a win.

And the review on obstruction was huge. Went from 5-1 with 1 our to 5-2 with no outs.

That was an incredible comeback! So proud of the girls today. SportsCenter worthy. This could be a special season.

In hindsight, Tech bringing Canady back in for the sixth inning will go down as a brutal decision. She also batted in the top half of the seventh and obviously tweaked something as she walked off the field gingerly.

Now, as a Mean Green fan, I'm showing my youth here but I would easily put this in my top ten Mean Green games seen live, maybe top five, definitely top softball game.
