I know everyone does harp on him for the on-court stuff, but all jokes aside he is a crucial part of this team in every aspect. I'd bet he's willing to sacrifice his life for UNT basketball

This mindset has basically disappeared across all college sports. Again, Matthew Stone deserves our applause not our criticism.

This wouldn't be an issue if we were giving some of our other bench players minutes.

Wish we could celebrate (and enjoy) minutes from Stone, and not be wondering what the rest of the roster looks like on the floor.

Houston played 8 guys last night and Texas Tech played 6. Tech had 2 of their better players out with injuries but none of their bench touched the floor. I would love to see what Mason could do but I'm not at practice, so I have to trust the coaching staff.

It showed.  Tech players were dragging at the end from exhaustion.
Let’s see how many non-used bench players portal out.

It all starts with culture. If you have a culture of winning and being a destination that players want to come to, you will have more talent to leverage. Right now, we have a more deep team than we have in the past, but still not quite there.

We play 8 out of 15 players.  Depth doesn't do anything if they're never used.

As someone who's taken my share of bad looks over the years, I can say with authority that, no matter the history, at this point it's a bad look to dunk on the dude. When he made that steal the other day, it was exciting. If nothing else, he's in there giving a starter minutes that help to reduce fouls on them.
