A State Senator in Georgia wants College Athletes Exempt from State Income Tax.

Republican Senator snubs every Georgia college football and hoops coach besides Kirby Smart in NIL bill announcement

Makes about as much sense as exempting tips.  That is an attempt to get votes from people who depend on tip income and the other is to get Georgia votes from Univ. of Georgia fans.

All well and good till someone figures out that others will have to make up those taxes out of their pockets.

So players can make more than coaches and have their room and board also covered, yet they should not pay taxes, and we will continue to tax the coach's salaries? It's an idiotic idea.

If so, I will discuss with my employer changing to a NIL arrangement.  I could always sign up for an online class and claim to be a pickleball player for SmallTown Community College.

If NIL isn’t taxable, then wouldn’t social media “influencers” also be eligible? Literally all they do is sell their NIL.
