I seem to recall in the not do distant past that they beat us in a certain tournament in Frisco, then we finished out season by beating them in a certain tournament in Las Vegas, which led to a few people getting some big ass rings that said "NIT Champion" on them.

We are going to be alright. Hodge is a hell of a coach. Don’t believe me just look at his career record. Walker and Jossell have been sick, it’s the middle of the season, etc.  These days off come at a great time for us. Heal up, get some rest and let’s finish strong. We just didn’t forget to play. 

If we had played great the last two games and lost, I'd be worried, but we played poorly and still had a chance to win both games in the last seconds. For seeding purposes, Saturday is a must win if we want a chance for a top four seed for the tournament.

If we go 1-1, I will start being a little concerned. Especially if they go 3 losses in a row.

To add to my own comment, Tulane will probably win their game tomorrow as they are playing UTSA, and now it makes the top 5 spots in the standings VERY close. Not much room for any more errors (losses).

So we beat a team near the bottom of their conference standings (4-8) with similar assist numbers? 
My takeaway is that this is a weakness.

We've had many games with single digit assists.

I would file this one under what Hodge described as "playing with fire"

We don't have a guy that can break down defenses from the perimeter.  That probably plays a lot into it?

Too many forced passes down low would be my guess for this stat. We saw a lot of balls get poked away or stolen because they kept trying to force points in around the rim instead of having confidence in their shooting.

      oh I agree we can beat P5 schools...I'd just rather be consistently playing and building rivalries with top mid-majors like Drake (we're Kendrick, obviously) or Utah State. if there's a chance for a home and home...or maybe even a good payday...with OSU or Colorado, obviously jump at it...there's regional cachet there...but do you think Minnesota, Boston College or DePaul is really going to move the needle of the casual significantly more than a well-regarded MWC, MVC, WCC foe, a (well-promoted) revenge game with McNeese or a renewed rivalry with a legit hoops program like WKU?

      Next year we play at Oregon State based on a home-home agreement. We need more of these with PAC12 and MWC schools. That game should be an opportunity for a quad one win next year.

      They're pretty much done on a yearly basis with the exception of some home-home agreements. From what I've seen, even the mid-season tournaments are scheduled only about a year in advance. I see what you're saying about the road contests not being Quad 1 for the home team. Enter the neutral site game. Like with Mississippi State last year, schedule a neutral site close-ish to the opponent so it's likely to still be a Quad 1 game for them as long as we finish in the top 50 which we have been pretty consistently for the past few years now. There's quite a few mid-majors with good schedules that we should be mirroring. For example, Dayton played Northwestern, North Carolina, Iowa State, Connecticut, Marquette, UNVL, and Cincinnati. Santa Clara played Arizona State, Nevada, Stanford, TCU, Washington, McNeese, and Bradley. New Mexico played UCLA, St John's, Arizona State, USC, and VCU. It's hard for me to believe we can't schedule like them because schools are "afraid" of us.

      Early on..........but Ms. Bearpaw is looking like our best hitter. Thus far anyway. And our other TU transfer, Anneca Anderson....has all three decisions. 2-1....on the season. Nice to see Skylar mop things up...and get the save....

      Bracketology- Bids by Conference

      How far in advance do they make these schedules? McNeese at one point was a Q1 NET, one or two seasons ago. I wonder if being in the 40-50 range of NET is tough because we're a team pretty darn capable of beating these them, but not Q1 so it's not worth it to them? Just throwing that out there. I'm all for getting more opportunities to beat Q1 teams. We need it!
