We play Washington State at DATCU (Sat) September 13.  The time hasn’t been determined yet.  Is it too early to starts push to “sell out”. That game ?  It’s almost 2 weeks after Labor Day.  It will still be warm/hot.  Would people commit to buy tickets and be present at that game ?  Could we get in front of family re-unions and weddings and birthday parties if we started this early ?  Could we ?   I’d love to replace Houston as the most attended game at DATCU.  Could we ?

Short of an extended summer it'll be great football weather. I think we're in a great conference considering our potential and our past, but Washington State is definitely a bigger brand than a UTSA or a South Florida. We should see Wyoming numbers for sure.

Washington State opens hosting Idaho, then hosts SDSU, before coming to Denton.  Hopefully they are 2-0 coming into town.

This could be a trap game for them...as they host in-state rival Washington for the Apple Cup the week after our game!

UNT opens hosting Lamar (eyeroll), then on the road to Western Michigan (6-7 in 2024).  Hopefully we are 2-0 also.

Could we? Yes.

Should we? Yes.

Will the AD finally start promoting games to increase ticket sales and attendance? Probably not.

Until the AD actually takes marketing/promotion seriously for a sustained period of time, don’t expect to see sellouts, even with winning seasons.

Once the entire schedule comes out, then the push should come out.  Let the people schedule their fall once every game is scheduled.  We have kids in HS and college.   We normally plan our fall once all dates are available.  Maybe that’s just us, though

According to the strategic plan, the AD only has to try selling out one game a year (all the other ones are on their own).  This is probably the right one to target as it’s before the inevitable loss of interest by the students.
