Road wins are never easy, and I still think WSU is way more talented than their record in conference shows.

Totally expect them to pick a random AAC T4 team, play way above their season average, and whoop them by 20+ points.

wilder things have happened.

I have no idea what to expect from them. I feel like they have been all over the place this year

Wichita lost to Tulsa today. This is one of those games we can't go screw around with via slow start or five-minute scoring drought. Grab a sizeable halftime lead and win by 20.

Even though Paul Mills is Benfording that storied program, they've announced 5K+ for every home game this season, including against a school called Friends. Still one of the better environments this league offers.

You've probably heard of them by their other common name: Quakers. It's an NAIA school down the street from them in Wichita. True story: Nixon was a Quaker.

They'll have to rip the bandaid off. No way they let their basketball program get Benford'd... thanks RV (and WB+1)

Five years of Benford-ball about killed off the majority of fanbase and season ticket holders that J. Jones had built up when he left for LSU.

With no football, this is Wichita State’s premier revenue and fan sport.  Unless there is a huge turnaround, I bet they change coaches after this season.

Whatever happens coach wise, Wichita State won't stay down long.

Agreed. AAC can’t afford a program of their calibre to be one of the NET anchors dragging the league down. We need them to be strong big picture.

Yes. We need our bottom feeders to be in the mid 100s and Wichita St is not that. They need to be sub 100, honestly where they belong.

Temple, too. The American could be a notable basketball league if two of their most storied hoops programs weren't mediocre. Then of course North Texas will become a household name once we win a national championship at Cowboys Stadium in 2030.

Every time I check the matchups on this app I'm always so tickled by the pace stat. 362nd makes us dead last in D1 doesnt it?

There are now 364 teams. We are 361 according to KenPom. Wagner, Virginia and Drake are the last 3. Drake is an at large team with a VERY slow pace, they know how to win.

Wichita State fan forum...some comments about our upcoming game tomorrow evening....

I'll be interested as to what the spread is. Honestly, I kind of hope they win. I've never had any issues with North Texas and they're definitely a team that can get into the tournament and I'd honestly like to see that. **** Memphis, but I respect North Texas.

North Texas is probably my second favorite AAC team. They defend well and play hard - much like WSU of old. They have an outside shot at getting an at-large if they can manage to essentially win out (the AAC really sucks this year).
Ross Hodge is also a better coach and recruiter than Paul Mills - all while making a few hundred thousand dollars less per season.

Knowing a little about North Texas I feel like we have a much better shot at upsetting a team like Memphis who plays out of control with no discipline. A well coached team with talent should own us at this point.

I would think maybe a little better since this is a good team. Maybe 5k.

I hope we destroy them but I hope they get their program turned around. This would be a fun restored rivalry. And the closest drive to any relevant basketball program in the league.

I think this could be a closer game then people think, WS is desperate for a win in conference play.

If we show up and clamp down on defense and play our game on offense we will be fine. If we show up and lolly gag in this first half like we have a tendency to do then we might get put into a hole we can't climb out of. We have to stop falling in deficits in the first half.
