Yikes. I think we all knew it was bad, but this is downright embarrassing.

I am not a wealthy man but we all need to do more.  This truly is embarrassing, I am not sure how we even compete.  I will increase my giving but that is not going to do much.  Someone must be asleep at the switch.  Our fundraising/advancement folks either need to get after it or find a new job.  I am in shock to tell you the truth utsa has got us beat.  Does anyone care?

I asked that when they hired the RV to run the NIL collective.  Leadership is only 50% committed to having an athletics program that attracts fans and donations.  Many may be tired of me saying this,  a Dallas Area FBS program with a poor history and lack of local media coverage that does not publicly make overtures at hiring Coach Sanders once he demonstrated he could win a FCS level isn’t serious about building a winning football program.  
 

I am not donating any extra money until they do the minimum WELL.  The minimum like firing the worse DC in FBS.  Minimum like not letting beating a dome team at home in the cold windy rain save your mediocre coach for a lame duck season.

We are getting the same amount as the other five teams that joined the American when we did, including utsa.

What's with the idea of "revenue" sharing? I doubt any business in the country provides revenue sharing with its employees, but given the recent trend in poorly educating students on such concepts, I guess I'm not too surprised that the athletes expect it to work this way. 

In the real world, if something like this is offered to employees, it's PROFIT sharing.  So, in this case, the players need to cough up their share of the loss, i.e. about $531k.

I don't think that in the real world if a company loses money they expect their employees to pay it back out of previous profits shared.I paid bonus at year's end when we had a good year , nothing when we didn't, and certainly didn't try to claw any money back.

I skimmed over the numbers but didn't really see if this is football only or all sports? 

But dang, I guess it goes to show to not give failed former athletic department employees a very important job to do....

Second to last in the conference in ticket sales. Last in 'Total Support'. Last in Contributions. Laughably last in Collective Funding. Still nowhere near moving dirt on the new AC. Declining basketball attendance despite a 13-4 record.

That's because they base it on PROFIT, not REVENUE.  THAT is my point.

This is an ongoing problem which underscores the lack of interest by alumni and students for UNT athletics. We thought the problem was bricks and sticks but its far greater and we have no idea how to fix it. We continue to milk the same cows for money and involvement in our programs and have hit a wall.

Our wise AD and CRO ran off a huge chunk of fans with their prolific price hikes. Then the CRO ran off to TCU. The AD has done nothing to pick up the pieces (or the phone for that matter).

He's what I would like to hear from our AD...someone who should have the insight on all this.  

Holding everything else equal, if a fan only has a fixed amount to "contribute" (fill in the blank, but for argument sake, let's say $1,000).  Is it better to donate $1,000 to the collective or spend $1,000 on season tickets (any sport) and MGSF donation?

This is their methodology for the NIL portion. Based on this, all the data is probably complete BS.

Instead, we are providing what we believe to be a reasonable estimate of funding a collective(s) supporting the school might be expected to generate in funding, given the school’s historic level of support from boosters."
