Fouls are a part of…wait for it…basketball

Free throws are an every game occurrence in…what was that thing called…oh yeah, basketball

Strategy is a part of…say it with me now…basketball

Yeah, OK wise ass. That's pretty evident that the fouling aspect is a part of the game. It's not the intent of the rule(s) and you know this, But you just had to hop on and be a little condescending asshole. Juuuuuuuust couldn't hold it in.

What a great win!  Didn’t play our cleanest game but played so tough - even as our 3’s just wouldn’t go down.

What do you say about Lorient at this point??? An absolutely monster game. The guy is just a freak athlete. If you’re not coming to games to witness this guy play in person, you’re missing out. Best athlete we’ve had since Tony Mitchell and it’s not particularly close. Just a treat to watch.

See, the Pit can be a great environment for a basketball game.

The Temple coach even said it was...

Come on crowd, need to be loud when Temple has the ball.

I don’t want to be that guy, but we have a good crowd for a great game and our defense was pretty much amazing all night. How do you sit in your hands and not get into the game?  My wife and dogs thought I was crazy watching at home cheering on the good guys. I just don’t get it. The Pit should have been rocking.
Students looked great, @greenjoe and I believe @Matt from A700 from shown a few times up and active along with others, but overall our crowd had got to get loud. I was never a fan of how NBA announcers cue the crowds but we may need to get Rob Coffee to start some “D-Fense” chants.

Sissoko has just been a different player in conference and I'm here for it. Lorient of course was MVP, but Massie and Floyd need some props for coming through this game. We really need for them to give us 6-8 points a game consistently and we are going to be looking good.

Horrible foul call on Walker on that 3. Also they need to change the rules where you can't move your arm into a defenders hands that are already there to create contact for a foul, that's absurd. You can't even stand there as a defender? It needs to end.

It was a huge issue in the NBA for a bit so they came out and said an offensive player swinging their arms before a shot is not part of a natural shooting motion and therefore should not be considered a shooting foul. It seems to happen less now. I don't watch every game though.

The officiating crew was the worst type - wildly inconsistent with how they called the game. Started off calling ticky tack stuff down low, then halfway through the 1st half - switched and let almost everything go. The shorter bald ref had 3-4 mind numbingly bad calls. The most egregious the foul on Walker you’re describing. We had basically shut the door before he called that & it resulted in all of us being in the Pit for about an extra half an hour to achieve the same end result.

The Harden Rule as I call it.  He used tp take what seemed like 5 trips a game to the FT line on this move alone.

The NFL has a common sense rule.. Can't go for 2 if you're ahead by X amount of something of those lines.

CBB has to implement something that warrants that if a team is losing by X amount they can't start hacking and try to fluke themselves back into the game by non-basketball standards. Just take the L and keep it moving.

Both teams need to be investigated lol. The line was 9.5 in our favor, we win by 9. The last three fouls seemed to be with the game already decided, and we refused to make free throws at the end.

I'd love to see that implemented at the college level.

Agree, the game was looking wrapped up before the Walker foul. There was another point late in the 2nd half where one of their guys sets a screen on Walker, Walker tries to get around, gets his arm held by the screener as he's trying to get back to Mashburn who is wide open for a 3. No call. I about lost it.

The other terrible call was against, I believe Floyd, when Mash Jr. shot a three from the corner and kicked his leg out creating contact.  I seem to recall this being called against Tylor Perry in an NIT game a couple of years ago.  Floyd was a foot in front of him when he released the ball.

Another ridiculous call went against Wright in the first half when he placed his hand on the chest of Picarelli and Picarelli flopped his head back like Wright had hit him with an uppercut.  They reviewed the call to see if it was flagrant, it wasn't, but you know the refs are looking at that thinking, "Man, that was a bad call."

The ESPN+ guys were ranting at the start of the game about how great and veteran the refs were, that one had done final fours and Natl Championship game.

They continued to defend them, which is the professional thing to do, but it grew old.  Almost like they were trying to cover for their ineptness.
