How about we beat someone first? We lost all the meaningful match-ups so far.

I Strongly Disagree.

We beat Minnesota on the road (who just knocked off #20 Michigan).
We beat good ORSt, AppSt. & UNI teams.
We beat the current 1st place AAC team (UAB).

We have people on gmg.com that don't think we're a good (MBB) program until you're T25.  CFB brands and rankings shape their view of MBB brands and rankings.

I don't think these wins you listed look meaningful to the casual fan.  Which is unfortunate.

I get it, if NT wins; it is because the competition is bad.

If NT loses, it is because NT is a bad team.

Do you not find a little wrong with that analysis?

Elaboration on that a bit:

Teams NT has lost to:

McNeese St. 61-68 away, MS is 12-5 and undefeated at home, lost to #2 Alabama away 73-80.

Utah St.  57-61 neutral, USU is 16-2 including a win over #20 San Diego St.

High Point 71-76 away, High Point is 10-1 at home, and like NT no one wants to play them; so their home schedule is not the toughest.

Memphis 64-68 away, One of NT's best games that has just about been ignored by the general press;  Memphis is supposed to walk over the conference not get a last minute home win over a league opponent.

This only applies to football.

Than why are you posting it in the basketball section?

Just drawing parallels. Sure, I will start a new thread in football just to reference this thread. 🙄

I like how sports reference provides the SRS (simple rating system) score and SOS for each of our teams going back to 49-50. Right now the current team has the second highest SRS, behind our NIT championship team.

Pretty crazy that the 6 teams of this decade comprise the entire top 6 in our school history. The Blakeley and Spika teams are the next highest, even above the Johnny Jones years. Spika years definitely had impressive results in a good conference.
