Good practice against a full court press in the second half.   Sloppy at first but we got better after several minutes of turnovers.   Points off turnovers was like -16.

Our free throw shooting has been really good this season. It put the game away today. I’m glad we got the win, but I have a couple of questions…


Why do we struggle so much against the press?

Why did we continue to allow them to speed us up even after we crossed half court?

Probably more dependent on how our past opponents do today. UTSA’s NET is only 227, so we may not get a ton of credit for this win, but being on the road and with a nice margin of victory we shouldn’t drop.

I get that, but the other day Minnesota/Oregon state won over higher ranked opponents and north Texas NET dropped 2.

Yeah, it’s hard to get a beat on some times. I know Memphis lost that day too and at this point we have so many past opponents influencing things it’s hard to know what to expect the next morning unless it’s an obvious quality win or loss.

Looked like a nice section of Mean Green fans in San Antonio. 

I could hear them on the ESPN+ broadcast during the game ....and with the North Texas chant.

As soon as that happens…sell out!

      Wisconsin alleges Miami tampered in Xavier Lucas' transfer https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/43471646/wisconsin-alleges-miami-tampered-xavier-lucas-transfer "Lucas left the Badgers without officially entering the NCAA transfer portal, and his lawyer has said publicly that he'll transfer to Miami. Wisconsin said in its statement that Lucas entered into "a binding two-year NIL agreement" and a separate agreement with the school's collective.... Wisconsin's statement also said the school has "credible information indicating impermissible contract between Xavier and the University of Miami," calling Lucas' situation an indictment of how college athletics currently operates. The Big Ten called the information suggesting "tampering and contract interference" by Miami "very troubling."

      Replay of North Crowley vs Westlake

      Kellen Moore, Philly OC, virtual interviewed yesterday. Robert Saleh, former Jets HC, interviewed today. Leslie Frazier, Seattle asst HC, will interview Monday. Sanders and JJ had a phone call last week; not heard of an interview scheduled yet but sure there will be one. Media is enamored with Sanders, as are a lot of fans wanting to stir things up.       Replay of North Crowley vs Westlake

      Watched some of that last night and had a thought. Sanders is being mentioned as a possible HC candidate for the Cowboys. If that were to happen, I would imagine their recruits will start looking elsewhere. Quentin Gibson, WR from N Crowley, is one of those and was Chris Jimmerson’s favorite target and ended up the MVP of the state title game. Incredibly dynamic and reminds me of Darden. Would love to see us go after him. For those of you in the DFW area, any names that seem to be leading candidates to become Jerry’s new underling?
