Get your rears to The Pit tomorrow! The ladies have a difficult opponent to face coming off their failed comeback in New Orleans the other night. South Florida is 11-6 but tied for a league-best 4-0 in AAC play. They were picked to win the conference last year but we beat them in our one meeting in Tampa. USF absolutely crushed Wichita State the other night in Kansas: 72-46.

Ladies up 64-54 with 2 minutes left.  Lampkin has 25 points 8 rebounds.  Aniyah Johnson seems to really be coming on as of late.  I don't recall her playing or doing that much until lately.  She has 6 points and 7 rebounds so far.

Complete reversal of our game against Tulane when we almost came back from a huge deficit, only to lose.  This time we were "Tulane" and almost lost it after a huge lead.  Kudos to freshman Price who made some crucial free throws at the end of the game.  Also to Lampkin, not a good free throw shooter, who made several of hers toward the end to match an overal strong game.  We do need to work on breaking the press and being more careful with our passes, which too often are  sloppy and lead to turnovers and easy baskets.

Overall, though, happy with the win.  It will be more difficult when we play them at their home.  Hopefully we will be a full strength and reduced our turnovers before then.  Next up is Rice at home on Wednesday.  Look out for Karen Aston's UTSA team...they are undefeated in conference play, we know she is a good coach, and they have beaten us several times lately.  We need to keep improving our play to match last season.

GMG!

so deck in concussion protocol.  but not on the bench?  seems fishy.  maybe our crack beat reporter bert frito can ask some questions?

Commentators covering the game, Burton's brother, mentioned she should be back for our next game.

Deck was on the bench today. She was in an all black sweat suit.

The first 32 or so minutes of the game was the best ball we've played all year considering the opponent. When we were up 20 I was looking at USF's roster and stats to see if they were missing anyone big and they weren't.

We looked like the men at Memphis once they started the full court trap though. Ugly finish, but it's another W.

Now we've got defending conference champ Rice at home Wednesday night. Come on people, get to the Pit!
