As I said earlier, Smith Brothers Roping (Actually spelled them “Bros) used DENTON, AMERICA in their ads and logo.  It’s the first and only time I’ve heard it used until Rob started it.

Totally wrong.  I didn't graduate from UNT, it was NTSU then...  But every North Texas alum from all eras graduated from NORTH TEXAS!

Yeah, well, it's not NTSU anymore. Also, with your logic, I think we are alienating all of the alum that graduated from Texas Normal College and Teacher Training Institute. I think you must agree, right?

Yeah, well, I talked to the grads from 1890-94 and they like the North Texas name better than UNT!

You want to go by a name people affiliate way, way more closely with a region in Texas than a university in Texas. Pretty wild to openly want to do that.

Southern Cal, South Florida, East Carolina, etc don't have issues representing regions.

Just because you want to use the initials for the school doesn't change the real name of the school.  It's still North Texas.  People could think UNT was the University of Northern Tennessee.  or Uniforms for Northern Tool.  lol

And it's pretty common for those schools to use SC, USF, and ECU in their branding and name recognition.

Would you rather us have "DFW" or "Dallas - Ft. Worth" on our uniforms?

I kinda like that.  The University of North Texas.  THE University of Dallas-Ft Worth.  If that school in University Parks can brand itself “Dallas”, perhaps we could claim to be the school representing the entire D-FW region.

It's all leading up to the university's renaming.  We're going to be the University of North America.

Just another directional school

I haven't noticed that at all.

You mentioned in one of your rambles you don't live in DFW anymore.  Maybe some things have changed since you've been gone.
