Never really felt in doubt about this one even though we trailed much of the game... glad to get the win on the road. Basically held them to 7 the final 8 minutes or so. Not going to count that desperation 3 at the buzzer.

Nice buzzer heave, jackass.

I don't think that should have counted.  If you saw the replay from the basket-camera view he caught the ball, pivoted, jumped and shot.  You can't do all that in 0.5 seconds...not 5 seconds, half of one second.

It doesn't really matter other than taking our defensive scoring average up slightly and making it look closer than it was, lol.

Moved to a 12-0 run before Felton got another one to drop.

Felton is a heck of a player.

Sissoko with another solid game.

Lorient and Wright with their typical nights.

Agree with the comment about Walker.  Other than his occasional lazy pass, he is clutch in so many ways that don't show up in the box score.  Great leader and just clutch player.

If we could get Jossell, Floyd and Massey rolling, we'd be unstoppable.

Great halftime adjustments, I just wish we could come out looking ready on the road. Hodge says he told them at half that he wasn't seeing the type of effort we should be having. Floyd needs to drive with confidence and take the shot, got himself into trouble a few times when I felt like he could just shoot.

On a side note do we need to do steroid testing at ECU? Why were their guys so jacked? 😂

Massey is that guy that has the mindset of “the guy” he just can’t finish consistently. Lorient is our best player, but weight is the guy that really decides whether this team wins or not, unless jossell or Floyd get hot.  They all have the ability to score at will, but wright is the guy that can consistently put up the big numbers.  I’ve just never seen a number 1 scoring option that can also completely disappear. Or I should say, we haven’t seen a number 1 that can completely disappear in some time here.  Massey seems like one of those guys that puts up absolutely huge numbers on terrible teams.  He is so electric, but such a terrible finisher.

I contend that this paragraph has more HSOs than any I've ever read on this forum

It’s crazy to think how stacked that FAU roster under May was that a guy like Lorient couldn’t find quality minutes. Guy is a complete player and an incredible athlete.

No doubt.  But I do think Ross and his staff deserve a wee bit of credit as well!

He is this team's Thomas Bell. Those types of players just have a high basketball IQ and do a lot of the glue type stuff. Just all around utility guy.

I am not sure if I have ever mentioned this, but…..”I LOVE THIS TEAM!!”

I didn't get to watch the game last night, but to echo your sentiment with a little more reasoning (at least MY reasoning)...  It's just nice to know we have a team with an IDENTITY.   Similar to the Dickey era in football with back-to-back national rushing champs because we successfully ran the ball constantly.
Not saying they'll be perfect all the time, off-nights happen, but just knowing that every time our guys take the floor, it's going to be a frustrating game for the opposition who will most likely score well-below their season average (ECU was averaging 75.5/gm at home before running into us & only dropping 60).  It's neat to have something that's unique (or, at least rare) to UNT.

And now, in the age of NIL & constant transfers leaving us unable to really form true affinity for players, it's fun to watch these rotating puzzle pieces come together in Coach Hodge's system & find success.

We went to ECU last year, why did we have to go there again this year?

Imo Floyd and Massie tend to get lost in a lot of games. It'd be nice to see more production and aggressiveness out of them during games. Good shooting night last night, we tend to grind games out with defense on the road, not with shooting.
