As much as that game means, and I know it does, I doubt it matters to them right now. These old rivalries still mean a lot, but they aren't EVEYTHING anymore. They'll only really mean what they used to when one school is on the edge of making it into the playoff or not (say they're #10 in the country, or like A&M this year if they win they advance to a conference title game and have a chance to make the playoff despite not being in the top 10).
OSU hates Michigan, but I'm sure their fans would take this result ten times out of ten over beating Michigan but losing to Texas, Oregon, or Notre Dame.
Do not feel sorry for these schools at all, they created this monster and did not know how to budget wisely with the millions that were flowing in the past 10-15 years. Time to do some efficiency cleaning house
