Great game! Would have loved to have seen Vice.

He played the last two minutes of the game.   Thought they were going to get in sooner.   Rice never got closer than 20 in the second half.

Dominating win in front of a tiny sleeping crowd in a canvas of a facility. Love the win. Hate the aesthetics. Easily the worst attended game/atmosphere I have watched on TV save for Grambling at TX Southern the other night. Yay. UNT has to do better at treating every game in "revenue" sports as if it's the Wyoming at North Texas football game. Frankly, it's teetering on downright embarrassment. Fix the attendance.

Good dominating win, honestly I expected a little more from Rice, but it was an excellent way to rebound from the Memphis loss.  Also UNT went from 70 to 60 in the NET, thats a huge jump at this point in the season, and I can't figure out why a Q3 win at home cause that.

If it were that easy, it would have been done years ago!

Can't be done if they don't try.

You're right, they never try!  Why would the athletic department want fans to attend the games?

What did they do to promote last night's game other than an email to current fans calling it "retro night"?  What effort is made?  I am usually pretty positive with my outlook, but we should be filling the SP up.

To top it off, the announcers for last night's game, who were one step above terrible, mentioned the  Snake Pit during the telecast and how it was still just across the street.  Want to know how one of those morons claimed it got its name?  He stated that back when the campus got heavy rains, snakes showed up in the gym coming up through the drains.  I swear I am not making that up.  Where is our SID?  Where do they get BS like that?

Show me one example of how they have tried to fill the SP this year or in the last 5 years.

I assume it's the "efficiency" factor in the NET equation that benefited from last night.  That or the results of other games impacted this.  Not totally sure, but it's a good question.

First of all, I know you're a troll and have been for many years.  Over the past 10 years, you probably don't have 5 positive posts on this board.

However, to answer your question (1) discount and multi game ticket packages offered, (2) shirt give aways, (3) various forms of half-time performances, (4) Denton student day.  You wanted 1 there's 4!  If you would like to provide the AD with an unlimited marketing budget to do what you would like then go ahead!

As for the announcers, NT doesn't control who ESPN sends.  If they mistake on air that's on them.  Do you really believe our SID gave them incorrect information?  I listened to Hank's interview with the announcer in the pre-game show.  He was very knowledgeable and complimentary of NT.  If he made a mistake, it was just that...a mistake.  It wasn't because he didn't know anything about NT or we intentionally gave him incorrect information.

A troll?  I have been a fan, including student and alumni, since 1965.  Think you've got me mistaken with someone else.

1. Do that every year.

2.  Shirt giveaway for last night's retro night.  They called it "Retro Night" and did nothing retro other than give out t's to the first 500 fans.  How did they market that?  Email to alumni and ticket holders three or four days prior.

3. Do people really look at the schedule and decide that frisbee dogs will make them attend?

4. Denton student day.  I am assuming you are referencing the 11am tip-off women's game that, by nature of the tip time, limits attendance to those students.

Sorry, I see a lack of creativity and effort because they were doing these same things in the mid 70's when I attended as a kid.

I am well aware that we don't choose the announcers.  Not my point.  Do I think they provided them with incorrect information?  Nope, that topic was probably never addressed in the production meeting, but someone from the department should be monitoring the broadcast to correct stupid comments like the one mentioned last night and referenced above.  He was complimentary of UNT during the broadcast, but he pulled that "fact" out of his ass and someone should be there to correct them.

blowing out a Q3 team should not matter that much, the predicted metrics had us winning by over 10 anyway.  For a top 75 school to move up 10 spots at this point in the season usually takes something significant.  Usually other schools need to drop down (Dayton did), also McNeese and has been looking good lately, that could also help.

Based on the last financial statement available (issued 1/05/2024 - waiting for the next on), we spent $8,432,941 on AD/Staff compensation, benefits and bonuses and another $4,083,277 on Direct Overhead and "Administrative Expenses."  The AD spent $908,610 on Fund Raising, Marketing and Promotion.  That's across all athletic programs.  It's all about priorities.

Nice criticism, but why weren’t you at the game instead of watching on TV.  Throwing stones it seems.
