I was thinking the same.  I wonder if he’s holding out for another large payday?

wouldn't you?

Surprising to be honest. He has talent and could go to another low tier p4 and be the guy.

Nice backhanded comment at the team you claim to love.

You're talking to people who haven't moved on from SMU maybe kinda sorta dissing them 50 years ago when NTSU allegedly got rejected from the SWC.

I give to you that was funny.  But I will forever be confused by fans of schools with deeper pockets and better athletic history on our board when we never play them.  If you are going to troll here, troll on Houston boards to get us on the schedule so you have a legit reason to be here. 🤷🏽‍♂️

I would not be opposed to him coming back here if he had the right attitude.

He already had his shot here.  And he only has one year of eligibility left.   Changing QBs every year doesn’t stop your program from winning but it certainly doesn’t help.

I think coaches might be genuinely concerned that he is out of eligibility. His only season at a JUCO was the 2020-2021 school year that already didn’t count towards his eligibility.

He spent 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 on FBS rosters. 5 years that were not the Covid eligibility season. I don’t think this extra season of eligibility due to playing at a JUCO applies to Chandler, and coaches probably are coming to that conclusion before offering him.

But there isn't any per-class commit limit anymore.  If a coach offers Rogers and he turns out to be ineligible, coach can fill that spot with someone else.

With his talent, I'm surprised he didn't get far more PT than Cal gave him.  I kind of wonder if he didn't do something bad at Cal, or did something that really turned the coaches against him?  If something like that is known in the coaching community, it would explain why he hasn't been snatched up yet.

Right but on the front end I think initial due diligence wouldn’t take long to realize it’s probably not worth the resources to recruit him, and definitely not someone you want taking spring reps away from the guys who are definitely going to be eligible in 2025.
