Notice he is no longer on the UVA page? They show 3 qb’s committed and thought I saw where a Nebraska qb had committed.

🥱 I wouldn’t put a lot of stock into anything we see or hear regarding transfers until enrollment dates have passed.

Well, not our problem anymore.

I'm really struggling to understand the people on here...   These aren't exact quotes, but very close, and if I needed to, I could go find each and every one.

I just want to get the timeline of events, along with their perceived reactions from many on gmg.com straight:

1. (Around mid-October) "Chandler Morris is going to be the best QB we've ever had!!"
2a. (C Morris announces portal entry) "Oh no!  We lost another great QB to NIL$$!  We hate the system!"
2b. "Chandler was trending downward since the Tulane game and was basically a shell of himself.  We won't miss him."
2c. "Haha, enjoy riding pine and losing at Virginia!"
3. "OH!  We got our new QB in Reese Poffenbarger!  Did you see what he did at Albany!?!?!?  He's going to be great!  Forget Chandler Morris!"
4a. "Mestemaker had an amazing game!  He's going to be a great QB for us!!!    Eric Morris is a QB Whisperer.  ...Who's Reese Poffenbarger?"
4b. "We would have won the bowl game if Chandler had played!"
5.  "Chandler is not our "problem" anymore!!1!"

Please help me.   Who is Chandler Morris?

Hope I answered that for you. If they would have just sat him and let his shoulder heal a few weeks then maybe we could have had a deep passing game the last half of the season. I noticed how poorly his play became and yet everyone insisted he wasn't hurt. Mestemaker proved if we had him starting we wouldn't have fallen ass-backwards into a bowl game.

Same types of things were said about Chandler Rogers the year before. Although the negativity was greater after he left. This is one reason folks can lose me with talk about the kids aren't loyal to the program anymore.

The stats tell that part of story quite well.

I'm not so sure about Mestemaker "proving" anything though.
It's possible he earns the starting spot next year.  He has moxie.  But if he does, man I'm really pissed off if I'm one of the bigger NIL donors watching my money go to Pofferberger who'd be riding pine while this guy who's just happy to be on scholarship now is starting.

And fans saying stuff like this can lose me with trying to imply that the people supporting this program for 5, 10, 20, 50+ years with UNT degrees on the wall are the problem. It’s literally OUR program, not the coaches or mercenary players that will never graduate from the institution’s program. We can literally say anything and be critical about whatever we want to. We’ll all be here after they’re all long gone.

Fans didn’t create this idiotic system we’re all collectively subjected to.

His bowl performance proved to me that we would have been better off sitting Chandler a week or two. As for the starter next year, i don't know.

In fairness... Chandler Rogers gave us hope for once at the QB position. Then he ditched us for a prettier girl... The feeling of betrayal stung worse. It also desensitized this to Morris leaving the next year...got used to the betrayal.

Apparently, the prettier girl is ditching him as he’s entering the portal once again.

Were we really more negative about Rogers leaving?  Sorry, I don't see what @Cooley sees, but maybe I have forgotten some after a year.

Regarding some collective donor being pissed Poffenberger isn't starting next year, that's your gamble when you donate to a collective.  I pray that they aren't being promised  a starting job as it should always go to the most talented, deserving young man.

To be fair, that "bigger NIL donor" probably just sent him a half-used whataburger gift card to go along with the used 2002 nissan sentra they rescued from a junk yard.

I'd honestly be interested to know what we are giving some of these guys, because I don't see a whole lot of money in play

It was reported that Chandler was offered $500k to stay.

If he’s washed, as many say, and still offered that much to stay… I wonder what Poffenberger was offered?

I would think they gave the 500k they had allotted to Chandler to Puffenstuff.  Don’t know that for a fact but I seriously doubt they would give that money back lol.  Hell Morris may not be here next season so I doubt they are banking funds for the future. The future is basically now.

Dude at the game told me $500k for Poffenberger, but my source is a dude at the bowl game.
