UNT up 21-15 after one. We are without Deck again.

Full section of player families. Hardaway, from Jonesboro, AR, has a lot of peeps here.

Memphis is bad. Somehow they beat Wichita by 10 at home though.

We are in here. GMG board, help me out, I've never been in the Snake Pit. Could it be renovated and converted into a women's basketball/volleyball arena like Elma Roane Fieldhouse?

The men's gym is not as nice or as much seating as this.

It would take some renovation $$.  I don't see it happening.

congrats on the win yesterday. our women's program is a yo-yo. get a good coach in and as soon as she gets things turned a bit, off to another job. thats the cycle we are starting over again with this year. The Fieldhouse was opened in 1951 and was the home to the men's team until the Mid-South Coliseum opened in 1964. Believe it or not, they could cram around 5,000 people in back then. its strictly womens basketball now. they've spent a ton of Title IX matching money there making the arena and support areas top notch. the volleyball team plays in the Finch Center, which was the men's basketball practice facility built for Calipari. its been totally rebuilt for their needs. be safe today, the weather is going to suck.

Darn. Really need to get volleyball (and softball) out of their high school facilities.

I like that idea of turning the Bahnsen gym into the playing location for WBB and Volleyball. I am not sure how much that would cost, but the super pit is just too large for WBB because of the lack of attendance. Volleyball's location is too small for them. At least for VB, it would put them back on the main campus. I think it could be a good home court advantage for both teams. It would be full for both teams.

Keep in mind there are bleachers that fold out (see the green stripe) and provide about as many seats down stairs as up stairs.  And, it’s been called the Ken Bahnsen Gym for about 20 years.

I saw Fritz Von Erich wrestle there back in the 70's when it was the Mens Gym.   I knew it had a capacity of around 5000 once.  We played a UNT men's game there about 10? years ago for some confliction reason.
