I will admit I am an optimist and I believe with a halfway decent defense we win 8 games next year and go bowling and break our bowl game losing streak, and from what we saw today it could be even better. Offense will not be the problem next year.

I was at the game. We have the most uneducated fan base in America. Guy sitting behind me was telling his TX State friend that our fans were mainly family members of players and the band. Idiots like that drive me crazy.

I was not at the game and didn’t watch on TV. After 25 years I’m sick of it.  On a family vacation and didn’t miss it except that I still check the damn score and see the L.  Gimmick football equals losing football.  Seen enough to know that nothing changes that.

It really was terrible. All the crowd noise was from the Texas State side. Those people have school pride.

My favorite fan was the older gentleman wearing a Texas State hat and sweater but a green shirt underneath. It was our green by the way. I'd imagine he attended both in some capacity but was too embarrassed to represent UNT over Texas State. Until crap like that and the quiet fans changes, things won't change. There's no passion in our fan base.

I completely agree. To see the coordination between Tx St band, cheer, and their fans...to put it bluntly made me envious.

I particularly liked the Texas - State Texas - State Eat em up whatever the hell they say after that.  2 loud North - Texas maybe followed up with GMG lol IDK but I liked that it didn't have to slowly fade out after everyone was tired of yelling.

I think the band part is spot-on. How many times do you see UNT ticket buyers leave after halftime because the Green Brigade has marched and that’s all they cared about…I’ve seen it for about 35 years now.

I thought they fought hard and I wasn't absolutely embarrassed to have gone to North Texas like I thought I would be since they usually shit the bed in games like this. There were a lot of good things to take from this game, but I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't exhausted of constant "moral victories".

This is where I am. I think we’re looking pretty solid across the board offensively. Maybe some questions at tackle but we added a multi-year starting left tackle from a MAC program.

7 guys from the Sam Houston defensive two-deep including 5 starters should give us a fast track on the installation of the defense and raise our floor there. My biggest question is who will step up and be the all-conference caliber guys to take us to the next level. Haven’t had enough of them.

This is pretty standard. I honestly don't get it. When I was really into games, I would actually yell at the fans to get more excited.

Its an exhibition game, a consolation, it doesn't count for anything.  I think its better to have our program and coaches spend December focused on building a team and staff for the fall rather then a meaningless bowl game.

I was going to make a similar post, but this really sums it up for me. I am happy for Mestemaker, but at some point, I am just tired of losing.
