Trying to listen to these games is almost unbearable. Announcers no longer even try to hide their biases. Lord help if it's a power conference school playing a group of five school and now it's almost as bad if you're an ACC or Big 12 school playing at SEC school or Big10. The pieces of crap doing the Texas Arizona game actually just gave Texas coach Steve sarkisian the credit as a play he would design for a play Arizona ran. Did not even mention the offensive coordinator that designed it for Arizona until the next play.

Media and announcers want the Big college brands in the Championship game = more viewers and more $$, and closer to an NFL product.

They fear another TCU would be another poor National championship.

TCU was just what the sport needs—someone knew that could break thru and win a title. 20 programs in 60 years have won them all. 55 of them won by PSU, tOSU, ND, Michigan, Nebraska, Oklahoma, USC, Texas, LSU, Bama, Florida, FSU, Miami, Clemson, and UGa. Add in titles by Tennessee, Pittsburgh and Auburn, who have 1 title each in the last 60 years but had won one before this, and you realize that BYU and Colorado were the only outliers. And we are very soon to see those two schools left behind, too.

I think some announcers, like the ones doing the Texas-Arizona St game, just try to hype up the game for both sides.  They quickly switch to sounding like home team announcers for which ever team is doing well at that moment.  Yesterday, it sometimes sounded like they were paid by UT, other times it was as if they were paid by Arizona St.  The days of Pat Summerall's calm work is long gone.

Everybody sounds like Cris Collinsworth these days, who could make a Patrick Mahomes incomplete pass sound like it was the immaculate reception. The big stars get hyped all game long even when they crap the bed. Actual players doing actual good things in front of our actual eyes get overlooked.

It's always staggering to scroll through the list of title winners. We're all just fillers for the top commodities. And that isn't limited to us, but basically everyone outside of the aforementioned.

Yeah, that buffoon screaming about Texas during the game yesterday after 4-yard runs was hard to stomach.

I mean, if you look at the NFL, it’s not really different, 13 of the 32 teams have combined to win all but 5 Super Bowl titles. 13 teams have never won one. But the money is the same and there’s 32 of them.

It’s what the top 40 programs need to do. They have budgets and support that few can compete with, not including the history, the locations, or their media.

Exactly. The lead announcer just kept yelling constantly at any positive play and they both verbally fellatiated Skatebo during the AzSt comeback.

It's just naked, vapid hype generation. The announcers are just marketers for the next game. It's a sign of the times, like juvenile,  inch-deep movies that exist to rape value from existing brands and services the plot for a sequel.  It's mental porn or candy.
