Who would have guessed when you have to buy players that they would not give a damn about the school. Again I know many of you will jump in how this all starts because the schools were so greedy but if you're not realizing the players have caught up on the greed then you have your head buried in the sand.

With all the lawsuits going on I really wish groups of students would start suing to stop mandated athletic fees. Students should not have to compensate professional sports.

I don’t know that I believe this story.  Bowl gifts have nothing to do with NIL and to the best of my knowledge, come from the bowls/bowl sponsors, not from the schools.  I have a hard time believing BYU players were treated to a great bowl experience while the Colorado players were not.

BYU players are not as high maintenance as Colorado players and it showed in the scoreboard

Maybe I should have said that I have a hard time believing that BYU and Colorado players weren’t treated to the same bowl experience.

Part of it probably has to do with the fact that the “swag” from the bowls/sponsors used to be really cool for players. Well compensated NIL players can buy all the swag they want. The bowl gifts just aren’t that cool.

I agree.

This article explains how it works.

Presumably, the total value of all that topped out at $550, the limit bowls can gift under NCAA rules. But schools and their sponsors usually gift players much more.

Who would know squat about Alabama if it wasn’t for football. SMU applications 2 pick up dramatically because of football success! Truly is the window.

I think I'll hold off on believing this story until there's a better source. Jason Whitlock stopped caring about reporting facts a long time ago. He's on social media all day long saying offensive things for engagement.

Kinda goes against the narrative when their two Heisman finalists started and played all game.
