Great game, Memphis is a good team and this one came down to the end.  However I am still baffled by UNT's inability to inbound the ball, this is a trend that has been going on for a few seasons now.  There were several times today that they would inbound the ball directly into a corner trap, many of those instances resulted into a turn over.

Yes, it's a past and present problem.

I'm surprised more teams haven't tried to press us on our inbounds.   It's not like we're going to kick into running the floor, lol.

Very encouraging as far as losses go. Just felt like we had too many live ball turnovers that led to easy scores. There had to have been at least 15 points there (breakaway baskets plus Haggerty's and 1). Super proud of Sissoko's performance. That wasn't on my basketball bingo card.

Okay, so we've talked about all these things that happened to allow Memphis to get the W.

If you're watching this game through Tiger goggles, what happened to allow North Texas to keep it close, and is there anything that Memphis can look forward to happening in Round 2 that will afford the Tigers a lot more breathing room?

Bringing this up, because I saw a thread on X where Tiger fans said this game was never in doubt or out of their control.  Trying to understand what they see.

Not really an exhaustive list but this is what stood out to me.

- We just dominated them on the glass with a defensive rebounding rate of 81.8% while grabbing over 40% of available offensive rebounds on our end. The rebounding performance is even better than the box score counting stats would indicate due to it being a low possession game and Memphis shooting a high percentage from the field. For context both of those percentages would be at the top of the NCAA over a full season. Memphis is a really good offensive rebounding team too. The rebounding won't be that lopsided again.

- Low possession game. The game was played at our pace. If Memphis can better dictate the pace then they can be more effective on both ends.

I guess we're just letting anyone post now.

I am sorry that my comment was offensive.  I looked at their preseason ranking + returning coach/cast + current record + current history of building large in game leads and losing = god awful

I stand corrected.  They are a really good team but have had some bad luck. Best of luck to UAB ending their run of bad luck.  Again, I apologize.

Your comment did not seem that offensive to me but apologies accepted.

Sissoko played well. We need that out of him.

Not offensive at all.  Just seemed misplaced or misinformed.
