Transfer Portal Entries After The Bowl Game

So players have five days after their bowl games end to enter the portal. That means after our game on January 3, we could still have new guys enter the portal for the next five days after that. Do you guys foresee anyone else entering during that time?

True. I’m talking about guys that have not indicated that they are transferring. Any new guys that haven’t told yet.

I was thinking maybe OT Larry Moore since he was benched this season. Never appeared to gain his spot back.

Shane Porter is leaving. He’s not gonna come back and get stuck being the fourth or fifth string running back again regardless of scholarship. He already has offers elsewhere and is not sticking around. I have a feeling another 8 to 10 guys will jump in the portal The day after the bowl game.

Why would they wait?  It’s less time for them to find a place before the 2nd semester. Unless they’re looking at places that use the Quarter system.  It just seems strange to wait.

Because they want to play in this game to increase their stock value. Show out in a bowl game and hit the road for bigger school or money. Look at the teams that just completed their bowl games. As soon as they did, players hit the portal. Rutgers had 12 guys do it right after their bowl. The world we live in.

Getting in the portal on January 3rd or 4th and trying to find a school by January 13th or so when most schools go back seems like a pretty tight window.  If they want to go, we will just reload.  Plenty of players want to play in an offense such as the one we run.  We have a bonafide starting QB in the Miami transfer that was one of the most highly sought after QB's in the country last cycle.  That alone will bring in the skill players we need if we have more go.

Also a very good chance that they nor other players let the fact that they are in the portal or not impact their communication through third parties with other schools.

That is crazy unless they want playing time on a weaker program in a weaker conference. I wouldn't be excited about us getting a Rutgers transfer if we got one.  They would just another body.  I wonder how manybod those guys find what they want by leaving.

Are you just speculating that this will happen or has someone told you that this is actually going to happen.

Let's hope these guys that enter the portal are not getting bad advice. Sucks about Shane and McGill not getting a scholarship. Both had decent years for us. I mean the guys that are never going to see the field it's probably for the best.
