I remember when we were a budget option for a university education. I’m definitely surprised to see us being the 3rd most expensive public school in Texas. There’s no way I would have guessed we were more expensive that Tech and over $5k a year more expensive than nUTSAck. That price difference really adds up over 4 or 5 years.

These are estimated total costs based on what the schools and depth of education provide. The schools included estimated costs for books, transportation, and personal/miscellaneous expenses in their total cost of attendance. All to say, I wouldn't take the numbers as 100% accurate. I just looked at UTSA cost of attendance and the estimated is over $29k. Looking at tuition alone, we are a few hundred more expensive than Tech and UTSA though. I wonder if some schools lower their tuition rate a tad because they know stuff like housing is more expensive in their area (example San Antonio and Houston vs Denton). I don't know what the cost of living is like in Lubbock.

Tenured professors, unnecessary committee meetings, no training or accountability for VPs or advancement all contribute as well. Athletic Advancement should include new funds raised , contacts made, and bonus based on incentives reached.

Won’t happen but at least the new Chancellor knows how to run a business and it eliminating a lot of waste that was promulgated by past regimes.  Hearing good things about the new president as well.
