Madero may be in line to be one of our Tackles.

Definitely could see that. We have a lot of guys we are projecting as tackles (including Madero) and not as many interior guys, so some will inevitably get moved inside. Not exactly sure who just yet.

Would like to see someone solidify that RG spot.

What makes this even more difficult to project is the next portal window (April 16–25, 2025), when Power conference schools go all out to poach the G6 talent they need to fill their backup spots.

I know this is still subject to change, but with a lot of transfers signed I figure we have enough to get a pretty good idea on what our depth chart will look like next year. This includes all scholarship players and walkons who are in the depth chart. Did my best guess based on Sam Houston’s positions listed on their defensive depth chart (12 spots based on the packages) and where our guys were listed, as well as their guys who we are bringing over. Took some best guesses with guys who weren’t in the two deep/newcomers.

Save your comments about how the transfer portal sucks and this could change so much between now, etc. That was always the case this many months out, but we have a pretty good idea based on the guys who actually play or we are bringing in. The bottom of the depth chart guys leaving is expected but doesn’t really change things.

Do you see my man Blake Fann cracking the LB two deep?

Maybe but with walkons I tend to leave them off these lists until they do crack the two deep. New DC is as good a chance as any to make a move up the depth chart.

@BillySee58 the only one I'd argue is Isheem Young should be starting at safety.  Getting to see him just a little bit he is the real deal.  Injury sucks but I think he has more ability than most at that position.

Other one I'd like to see change is MLB, I think Brown or Burrell dethrone Weslowski this season but we will see!

Honestly I have Young down there because I’m expecting him to transfer. I believe he took UNT stuff off his socials and he came here because of Caponi. Hopefully it ends up being a fit from both sides because I agree that he would be a player for us, and the other secondary spots have been well addressed.

You would have thought we'd have a couple former JUCO guys in their senior year with potential to come back by nope. Rempert the only one and he's in the portal now.

I think technically Breylon Charles goes from being a Junior this season to now being a sophomore next season eligibility wise. Also O-lineman Julio Madero and D-lineman Demetrie Morgan who we just signed would be freshmen eligibility wise next season.

Updated for adding Sam Houston’s leading receiver Simeon Evans, offensive lineman Ugonna Nnanna who started about 9 games in his career at Virginia, and offensive lineman Jaymon Lamb who started at tackle for SFA this season.

I believe I saw this was a temp rule by the NCAA only applying to outgoing seniors this season. Basically so they weren't tied up in court over the Pavia and all the following suits.

Yup. Will be interesting to see how it plays out. For now I have everyone’s eligibility listed in this depth chart based on if the rules continue to count JUCO seasons towards the traditional 5 seasons to play 4.
