SMU and Indiana had no business being in the playoff.  We need the NCAA andplayoff selection committee to take note.

How about Tennessee?  Did they deserve to be in, because they got spanked worse than either SMU, Indiana, or Clemson…by a lower seeded team.  We need the committee to take note of that also.

Respectfully disagree.  The committee's job shouldn't be to create enticing matchups.  A 1-loss Big 10 team or a 2-loss ACC team who played in its conference championship game should expect to get the nod over a 3-loss SEC team who didn't play in its conference championship game.

And, by the way, the others in contention for those last playoff spots have also had bad losses.

Can we compare conference championships or top 25 rankings next?

The Mean Green have won 130 conference championships, including 34 since 2000.

SMU has been on probation five times between 1974 and 1985, and seven times overall

Only if we can also discuss Death Penalties and 100-point losses.

How does it feel to know that a garbage program like Rice was able to beat SMU by 143 point in 1916, yet UNT has never, and will never, be able to accomplish this simple task?

Wait, hold on

So, I guess it's good to see the school in a city ~10x the size are finally interested in watching their local team.
   Dallas Population:  1,302,753
   Denton Population:   164,096

Although, I'd really like to see photos of these SRO crowds that supposedly happened at every game this year.
Also, look at that #4 team AND #2,#5 in the decline section.  Teams also in large cities.

"SMU's surprise run to this year's CFP field drew an average of 32,652 fans per game at the 32,000-seat Gerald J. Ford Stadium"
