Truth. I’m a fan of the underdog in March Madness and I feel the same about the CFP. The upsets are the special moments of the tournament. -

The only reason you’re saying that is bc it’s SMU. When it was UCF or Cincinnati or Boise, everyone hypes up the little guy bc they delude themselves that maybe in the right universe that could be UNT.- 2

They were a bad pass/dropped pass from going up 7-0. I think that would have changed the game considerably. I’m not going to defend SMU because I agree that they had a very favorable ACC schedule, but they didn’t play well today and I think their inexperience on the big stage was a factor. That shouldn’t prevent them (or any other team) from getting the opportunity. If the seedings were done correctly, Clemson would have likely been playing Arizona St. and SMU would likely have been playing Boise St. which probably would have been more competitive games. I don’t think Boise or ASU have quite the home field advantage that Penn St and Texas do…especially Penn St in late December. I can’t believe how many fans of a G5 team seem to want a playoff consisting of the SEC vs the B1G. I love what Sean McDonough said last night: We need to stop assuming the SEC and B1G are the best conferences. Not a direct quote, but that’s the gist.- 1
