Just asking, but who do you think is our best AD ever and why?

Did not end well due to complacency but RV brought the Athletic Programs up with some of his early hires and retentions.

Hayden Fry, not even close.

He changed the whole program culture...created new, innovative marketing, found big donors like Rex Cauble, Willie Nelson and Bob Hope, inspired the city of Denton like never before or since.   And he had never been an AD before this job at NT as both HC and AD.

I think I heard he didn't really want to be the AD, would rather just be a coach.

I did recently see the million-dollar donation to the athletics department for the expansion project. Kudos to JM for landing that and thank you to the family that donated that money. Need more of that, as it is the second most important part of his job behind creating winning programs.

Totally agree.  I am thinking they have been making some progress with facility funding and that is important.  Good facilities will break an NIL money tie between two G5 clubs.

It's my understanding that the only way we could afford Fry was to combine the salaries of both jobs. After he left they were split again.
