Might be the biggest loss so far.

Really?  Just replace him with another freshmen/JUCO that will be here for a year.

Huge devastating loss!  The heart of our Oline.  Really saddens me as he was a good kid.

i really struggle to follow and support this program in the current environment.  All of the best players leave as soon as they play good.  How can you stay a fan of this?  How can you hive money to this?

Seriously? Did you see how ineffective all the transfers were this year? Some lost their starting jobs. Do you think freshman all-American centers grow on trees?
Geez, something about da Nile not just being a river.

This is why I think we should always be a portal heavy team. There is no such thing as us growing freshman for our future. We are merely just a farm system for the power conferences.

I liked Mercer.  I think he was the one that came in on a whim in one of our first two games and saved our asses when the starter went down.

Freshman AA, too.  I know the portal system is a rotating door for rosters, but this could be a tough loss.  Some quality not easily replaced.

Good point. Unless they change the NCAA system to where schools are compensated in some way for developing players and then losing them, it is almost foolish for the G5 program to be trying to build up and develop high school players to see them move on.

My point is that he was offered and committed and signed all on December 20th of last year.  He was solid in the middle, any yes a Freshman AA.  How many other freshmen are starting at center?  We can find a replacement.

This one hurts the most because he was a True Frosh, but same sentiment now as the others, place all his personal stuff in a box at the curb once finals finish this week and deny access to any athletic facilities

You know it's frustrating but not worth getting upset over anymore, as it is what it is. From my standpoint, as he moves on, I don't wish him well, and no, I don't wish him any harm either; I don't care about him anymore. So, it's time to try and find more players. As frustrating as it seems, there will be players out there, and some will work out and some won't. More than ever, it's time to support the university and not the players. Just my $0.02 but donate money to help improve facilities but I would not advise anyone to donate to a player's NIL listings.

I will just keep giving my yearly $$$ for the past 15 years to students actually wanting a degree from UNT via scholarships in Departments.

Save some of your hate for the agents out there, talking these kids into leaving. I see where Mercer refers everyone for "business" inquiries.....to Miles at The Jordan Group. So, I guess they get a piece of the action?

Revamped OL next season once again. At this point, wouldn’t be surprised to see Larry Moore and  Makai (spelling?) Lee both enter the portal also after losing their starting spots during the season. Only one left is our other frosh LT whose name escapes me at the moment. I guess we’ll see more of Johnny Dickson…yay (sarcastically).

Dion, if they can’t start or contribute on special teams he is not recruiting them out of HS!

My minor league farm system comment stands and consider the positives here.

1. You are a HS player JUCO or FCS player not picked by the big boys .

2. You know going to UNT can increase your value and you will get looks on national TV.

3. UNT does not have money to throw away so we don’t .

4. Due to 1 and 2 above , with solid offense and defensive coaching , we can stand out at the Top of our conference and continue to generate top talent coming through.

5. Nothing wrong with that.

Hard to compete in this conference with Memphis’ FedEx NIL $$$. They may not have had the greatest season this year, but it will be easier for them to reload than us because they have lots more $$$ to spend.
