NIL continues to ruin sports not only for the have-nots like NT; but for all college sports.

I still don't know why the NCAA does not fight against it.  Yes, NIL was created by the judicial system, but now they should be able to see how unfair and anti-competitive it has made college sports.  

The NCAA should just ban NIL and make any player that accepts it; ineligible. Sent it back to the court system and hope for a more reasonable outcome.  

As for losing QB Morris, bye to you and everyone else that wants to transfer.  This offense is primary a product of coach Morris, I don't think QB Morris is as important as he probably thinks.

In the past, I would have been shocked and very upset at losing a top player. Now, I just expect it.   I just don't care about college sports that much anymore and that is very sad.

And now, the dam will break. I expect to lose all our top players. The NCAA should be sued.

kick rocks, put his stuff on the curb once classes done this semester. Do not allow access to facilities to players no longer staying.

Denton will NEVER be this for UNT. You can try to make them do it or believe they’ll want to do it,  but they’ll just disappoint you.

It's not going to be easy, and it will take innovation, persuasion, and a lot of strategic thinking--but I don't think it's fair to say "never."  Also, UNT does have some advantages, such as being a massive school in a prosperous part of the country.  

I'm not suggesting that we should be competing with A&M in NIL dollars by next season.  But, I think moving up from bottom 3 to the middle of the AAC is an attainable goal, if the fundraising efforts are done effectively and aggressively.  We are not helpless in all this.

The NCAA is there to do what the schools want it to do. That’s exactly what it’s doing.

And, just as I always said, the political system at all levels would protect their investors…hint, we ain’t an investor, nor are we an investment.

I doubt there is one team in the NCAA, who now thinks NIL is a good idea.   Not Alabama or ULM.

The anti-trust laws in this country are too strong to fight against. You can not hinder or restrict anyone from making income in this country, once players were paid it was a wrap. How do you propose the NCAA fight federal law? I'll add it's federal law that they have already lost cases in as precedent.

Antitrust laws are directed against monopolies, and if there is any application at all to NIL; it would be to hinder NIL not support it.

Working great for the SEC and Big10. That’s who these courts are really fighting for.

Until they change the system this is the best thing to happen for EM and UNT.  Well, it’s step 1 anyway.  Step 2 is Chandler getting 1.5-2mil from his new school.  EM and UNT make these mercenaries money.  We can build on that reputation.  Really, I hate losing Mercer more than Morris.  He won’t be as easy to replace.

Morris was maddeningly inconsistent.  Maybe had the highest ceiling of anyone we’ve ever had suit up at QB, but too much inconsistent play from him.  I think we can do better.  Still hope he makes bank, but hard to believe he turned down 500 unless he was holding an offer for double that.

How is it working great for the super conferences?  Now, they get to direct fan payments to players that before were just transferring in for the opportunity to play at the highest college level.   

NIL only works for individual players and the mostly unseen agents that NIL has created.

When he recruited Cam Ward to Incarnate Word there were no other offers. Who knows, with a few weeks to prepare we may be pleasantly surprised. I will attend the Bowl no matter what.

Really?  The QB is the most important position on the team.  If Chandler Morris wasn't playing for us this year we would have trotted out one of the two freshman and would have been lucky to win 2 games and could have easily gone 0-12.

Because they can just go out and buy whatever they need. QB sucks? Just go get the best passer in G5. Need a couple backup DBs? Here’s a blank check Mr XYZ player.

SMU maybe, but why should UT or Oregon disagree?   You seem to be assuming that recruiting results would substantially change without NIL.

UT and Oregon would do fine without the headaches NIL promotes.  Even SMU would just go back to paying players in the old fashioned ways that they historically used.

      And I'm putting their families in the group as well. Last year was the final straw when I responded to tweets by several family members during the BB season (after doing the same thing the previous year for a certain player who will remain nameless here). They'd be cheering on the MG team (via accounts related to their specific player) and many of us would give positive responses of support, appreciate, and encouragement. Then at the end of the season, so many of these same players left after the team had a decent season with a first year coach and many players available to return. I don't know if I felt betrayed or simply realized that all of their posting was simply temporary (fake) support for whatever school their kid was playing for. The name on the front of the uniform really didn't matter and they had NO pride in obtaining a UNT diploma. Of course some amount of relocation should be expected, but nowadays, it seems like it's become the norm and not the rare occurrence. This whole thing kinda reminds me of something I saw growing up as a coach's kid in a small town. I was the typical gym rat and on Monday's the Jr High games would be played and I'd hang out and watch the games after our practice was done. Inevitably, EVERY year I'd see the same funny thing. Some family (that I knew) and that likely went to the HS games would now attend Jr Hi games as well because their kid was playing. Every year, they'd comment on how nobody was there. I'd simply think to myself, it's the same size crowd as every year, but it's now your turn to be the only ones here. Sure enough, after 2 years, they'd be back to only HS games (unless they had another kid coming along in JH). Again, it's a different situation, but it does remind me of the same temporary support.

      Agree, I think Wright, Jossell, Lorient, and Massie/Floyd are all guys that could lead us in scoring any night, but in close games having a clear #1 who can create and wants to take that last shot would help us be a clear Top 3 in the conference imo.
