Demonstrably untrue

I don't know how you could possibly believe that the G5 is better able to compete with the P5 overall when unlimited and unregulated money is flowing into college football. Our all-conference team each year is a shopping list for bigger schools.

The Wall Street Journal reviewed the 2023 first-team all-conference selections for the five smaller leagues that compete the top tier of Division I. These conferences are the American Athletic, Conference USA, the Mid-American, the Mountain West and the Sun Belt, known collectively as the “Group of Five.”

The impact of the transfer portal is striking: After eliminating those who graduated or departed for the NFL, a whopping 40% of the remaining players with all-conference honors switched to another program. The vast majority of them bolted to a team in the Power Four (the Atlantic Coast, Big 12, Big Ten and Southeastern conferences).

Wrong.  Virginia has a beautiful campus, and their uniforms are really cool.  And those Cavalier helmets are to die for.

When he recruited Cam Ward to Incarnate Word there were no other offers. Who knows, with a few weeks to prepare we may be pleasantly surprised. I will attend the Bowl no matter what.

I for one was pleasantly surprised.

Teachers, musicians, and commuters are takers not givers. Any time spent soliciting them is wasted. Follow the grads who were active on campus. There lies the real source of support as alums.

If you want to pin these people down for lack of giving, how about we talk about lack of money in their respective industry and incomes, before we take shots at where their hearts are?

@DallasGreen  Exactly what industry do commuters work in?  Inquiring minds want to know.

There must be different "mailer" lists.  I know for a fact University-giving mailers go out to more alums than Athletic-ticket-donor mailers do.   Athletics needs to step up their marketing and alum-retention game!!

One question——at 46K why are we considered a small school?

Context.   Small in FBS terms of Athletic budget, Athletic donors, season ticket sales, game attendance.  It has nothing to do with enrollment size.

If it makes y'all feel any better, I work with a Baylor and Alabama grad who both refuse to donate to NIL. Obviously both schools have more than enough donors to make-up for the few who won't but there are fans of big programs who are over the NIL stuff, especially donating when they already paid their tuition to said schools.

Enrollment doesn't determine whether a school is big in football.

I was speaking of teachers and musicians.

I quoted the wrong post. He stated that musicians, teachers and commuters were takers…I was curious about commuters.

Sure, but after self-employment tax, medicare tax and income tax, it will be a lot less 🤣.  All this NIL money floating around has been a nice windfall for the taxing authorities.

Don’t forget state income tax in OK
