In the past, I would have been shocked and very upset at losing a top player. Now, I just expect it.  

I just don't care about college sports that much anymore and that is very sad.

Yeah, I think we all saw this coming. Like I said in the other thread, many of these guys are mercenaries. Can't get too invested in them, and can't whine when they abandon us either. Maybe the Texas State QB will be in the portal for the bowl too.

I saw this coming when he first came here. Oh well. The rotating door continues at QB. Idk if it’s just me but I’m not even upset about this. Morris was great but didn’t really feel like he cared about UNT, just the ability to build his stock

Somehow makes the bowl a can’t lose proposition. If we win, we can make fun of Texas State for losing to a true freshman QB

I honestly would be surprised if a single offensive starter with eligibility left plays in the bowl game.  This is why it sucks to be playing an in-state opponent.  We were always destined to be playing with the 2nd team offense and getting blown out.  That was going to happen against any opponent, so doing it against a school from across the country that we don't really recruit against would at least mitigate that damage.

What are the odds Chandler Morris will get an opportunity at a bigger school like the one he'd have in Denton next season? Our last Chandler to bolt threw for 117 yards this year at Cal, which was a mere 3,265 less than he did at UNT.

that our 2nd string is a walk on freshman is an indictment of EM's recruiting at QB outside of CM, who faltered quite a bit during the 5 game losing streak and was not sharp against Temple either

The team might want to edit the bowl game marketing pictures with Morris on them. Good timing for those emails, texts and social media.

This right here makes it harder and harder for me to invest in the program.  Very sad that this is the state of college football, especially for non P4 schools.  We are just a breeding ground for kids to get better and move on.  If we have a high school recruit produce, they're gone.  If we have a transfer produce, they're gone.  I'm all for these athletes being compensated but they've got to get some guardrails on this thing.

What little we saw of the backup qb he seemed very hesitant when he was on the field.  I think more playing time might help that, oh wait we had to pad the starting qb stats who wont be here next year.

Maybe he's planning on playing for dad at TX State next season? TX State's current QB Jordan McCloud is a senior.

This news would have upset me a lot more if I had heard it when we were 5-1 and I was hoping for a great bowl destination. Hearing that the guy who led us to another 6-6 year and a bowl game in Dallas is leaving is hard to be too broken up about.

this is why I am hesitant to give to the NIL. I don't see the point if all the top players just leave.
