Hoping we can hold onto more of our top players this time around.

I would expect to lose all our top players; we are now just a catalog for the wealthy schools.

whatever, CM should skip the bowl, if EM is smart he plays the players who want to be here, not some porcelain doll on his way to his 4th school

Don't hold your breath.  $$ will make a lot of people leave.  The sad part is all but a very select few of our guys who leave make the field where they leave.  They are just being added as depth.

Just me, but anyone who declares should not be allowed to return to the facilities. Put their items in a box and send it to them.

I think we should get mad at the NCAA, not the players. This situation is not really the player's doing.

Are the players not the ones choosing to leave every year? And have no loyalty?

Sure, like anyone would turn down hundreds of thousands of dollars for college loyalty.

The 4-to-5-year players staying is almost nonexistent now days...times have changed

Nothing about this upsets me. Of course he's transferring. We will lose every single player that made any kind of impact. That's why I don't care about any of them....we'll have all new players next season. And guess what...anyone that plays well next season will be gone after that

I would expect EM to get us a really good transfer QB in here for next season. And then I would expect him to be gone.

Every player is on a one year deal from now on....

This is just where we are.

Chandler Morris even said when his football career is over, he wants to go into business/real estate. Might as well get some $$$ to invest.

It's actually super smart on his part. Have no problem with him doing that. Don't blame him one bit.

It’s crazy that QB is a position I’m honestly not worried about. Somehow we even made Austin Aune work. Morris was good, but this was such an obvious move. He had a foot out the door the second he announced he was coming to UNT. Sadly, more transfers will come that probably hit a littler harder

All UNT players who leave like this should be forced to do it during the middle of a game, like that one guy who quit the Mean Green to pursue his love of men's fashion. At least then we could boo them.

Are any departing UNT players getting offered that kind of money?

Players are looking at sports as a job, and if you have an opportunity to significantly your income go for it, just like in the real world. Students attend college to learn how to improve their future  financial opportunities and athletes are no different. There is no corporate loyalty to employees so why would expect them to be loyal to corporations . Players have learned from their coaches and administrators that its okay to leave for a better opportunity so I don't see how we can criticize them for it.

100% this! Players should do what is best for them, but for me personally, I will never spend any money on a player's personal NIL gear they try and sell.
